Pacesetter Exhaust

Has anyone tried the Pacesetter exhaust? Price seems very good, but besides a generic "up to 12-14% horsepower increase" no details on performance are listed.

I know several people have gotten their headers. Any dynos with the LT or Shorties? Good product? Bad product?

You might want to do a search on this, one v6 guy got it and sold it because he said it was too LOUD and couple v8 guys are loving it. Mostly v8 guys are the only ones who tried them but I heard that they are good fit if you can get over the fact that they are mild steel. You get the whole catback with xpipe for around $330.

I have it with the Magnaflow resonated x-pipe in place of the one that came with the system.

If I get some time this weekend I'll take some videos and post them.

UFC, not a bad sound! Can you tell any difference before/after on performance or throttle response?

I would use caution using 'Pacesetter'..... I have alot of experience with it (was the senior moderator on a sport compact forum wil close to 80,000 members) back when I was in the sport compact days, which wasn't that long ago, their products were beyond crap. Very poor quality welds (headers) and a bunch of other fitment and generally very cheap issues. If it was up to me, look elsewhere.

My pacesetter LT's that I ordered for my 2002 look great haven't had a chance to put them on but they look like top quality welds and such

This is sort of why I'm asking. I hear very different experiences. It almost seems different vehicles get different levels of quality.

I'm leaning towards either the Gibson or the Solo exhausts, but figured these might be worth a look, simply because they seem to sound good on GM V6's (Pontiacs). But I couldn't find any hard information on any of their Camaro parts.

There are ALOT better companies out there, enough said. Honestly, look on the forums for other setups and reviews.

Just google "Pacesetter Cracked" or "Pacesetter Quality" and you will come across dozens of forum threads about their poorness.

Mind you most of the issues are on their headers but it's a commonly known company that produces cheap and poor products within the automotive modding clans.

Choose something else..... really.

Also don't just go by sound, it may sound good to you but when it's busted and laying on the road behind the car.......

I have never had a problem with Pacesetter exhausts. I had one on my previous car for 3 years without any signs of wear.

As for the performance difference with this system, I noticed the car has a little more pull when taking off. Other then that, I just love the sound. I haven't had the radio on since I got it installed.

I do think the Magnaflow resonated x-pipe helps limit the drone. Without it, this system might be too loud in the cabin.

Pacesetter is only cheap because its mild steel, but gibson is mild steel and also flowmaster is mild steel and even some magnaflow. They all have options for SS but its more expensive.
