One piece drive shaft

When is a one piece drive shaft nessecary? Would you gain any hp buy losing the rotating mass of the stock one or just get there quicker. The car only has exhaust and intake on it. Do think it will ever see over 450 rwhp.

The one piece is mostly needed for force inducted cars, most people won't have any problems with the stock piece, even up to and beyond 600rwhp, but you're playing with chance at that point. I'd say around the 550-600 rear wheel horsepower, think about getting one. The one-piece is a lot stronger, which makes it good for durability, particularly in a manual car, the driveshaft gets beat on a lot harder than an auto does.

It won't give you any more power, but will give that power a greater ability to get to the ground. The stock driveshaft is fairly mushy, and will take up some of the usable power at start out, making it slightly slower.

With an intake and exhaust on your car, if you have a manual, you're probably around 440-450hp at the engine, which means you're about 375-380hp at the rear wheel, even less if you have an auto. In my opinion, you probably don't need a one-piece driveshaft now. Unless you plan on supercharging, then keep your money and put it towards a cam swap!

If you have any questions, feel free to call, email, or PM anytime!

i agree, unless you start breaking/ the Giubo mounting bolts its not needed. it will make an improvement to reaction time and launch feel if your looking for a more connected feel out of the car but not actually needed until you go higher in the HP range.

I personally have not done a before/after dyno on mine as it went in during a rather large upgrade. But Doc did a before/after and picked up 6HP/10TQ with his 1-piece plus IIRC, he picked up another 3HP when he went from AL to CF.... I can tell you that the car will feel "hardwired" to your right foot afterward!

What is the weight saving over the factory drive shaft compared to a one piece?

I'm not sure what the stock shaft weighs, the aluminum is about 17lbs and the carbon 15lbs. the conversion plates a few pounds. our server is down now or i would have exact numbers.

How much are we talking for the one piece shaft? I am planning the SC and with all the other mods I will be in the area of 550 RWHP. I may want this up-grade!
