a/c problem on my 3rd gen
i have had this problem for quite some time were my car overheats only when the a/c is on. it will start to overheat and i turn off the a/c and it goes back to normal. i checked everything from fluid changed the thermostat a couple of times and nothing still does it. don't know if it's the fan or the relay switch i only have one fan instead of two fans. any previous or current 3rd gen owners have or had this problem. i really miss the cold air my 3rd gen throws out and with this texas heat i need it.
oh forgot to mention it's all stock 305 v8.

Do you mean the car only has one fan or that only one fan is running? Mine has two electric fans but the second one rarely comes on ,but it does when the ac is running. Also, it could be that the condenser coil and/or the radiator is dirty. Did you ever hose them out? They can look clean from the outside but be very dirty in between the cores.

Do yourself a favor and get rid of the AC. You will have less hassles, spend less money and won't really miss it that much. You're in Texas but I've driven in high heat/humidity in not just where I'm at now but in Georgia and just bring the windows down and hook up an electric fan and chill to the tunes!

try taking the fan out, hooking it up directly to a battery, and see if it spins faster. The single fans only have one speed, so its either on or off. If it spins faster out of the car, you have an electrical issue. Check the wiring going to the fan. Ive seen a few fan relays go out. When the fan normally kicks on you should be able to hear it inside the car with the windows down. If you have a bign enough amp meter I can tell you what a normal one pulls, I have my old one in the rafters in the garage. Lemme know if that helps!
