Military discount?

I was searching around the Chevy website and noticed they have a Mil. discount listed. There is also a USAA discount and $1500 cash back discount on 2012 and remaining 2011.

I'm looking to buy an '11 2SS and know where there is a Camaro located that I want. The MSRP is listed at $40K and they are selling it at $35,200 then subtract the $750 USAA so around $34,500.

Is there an additional $750 available for Military?

Hey Birm! Long time no talk...I like the new Avatar!

I didn't use a USAA or Military discount per se...it depends on the dealer you work with...the dealer I ended up with was the furthest of the 4 I talked to in the "local" area because he beat everyone that went with the standard USAA/Military/GM preferred discounts by about $1,000....he earned my business.

He doesn't get the every day Army customer from Fort Hood like the closer dealers, so he worked harder for my sale. I can appreciate that and I have sent no less then 5 friends to see him for a good deal.

From what I understand and I may be wrong, (someone please correct me if so) but there isn't a "military discount" - you just get to buy at military "preferred pricing" - but if you are getting a price under that already then it's pointless I guess.... If you are a USAA member you can also get the $750, and that's it.

Depends on the dealer. May is Veterans appreciation and that is when I bought my SS. Thank you for your service!

I used the Military Discount which was sponsored by USAA for my car. I didn't finance it through USAA, though, as I used GM (Ally) financing. If it's an older car on the lot you can get really smoking deals, but I'd suggest doing a "Internet quote" before you go to the dealer. Sometimes it's the fleet manager so he's less commission driven. My guy gave me the military $1500 off, free $1200 (or 1500?) in options from GM for getting a 2010 in 2011 (Jan), another $1000 off because he couldn't find a Red 2SS, stick with a sunroof like I wanted (only auto avail), and then ANOTHER $1000 off because I initially walked away from the deal. My wife was thinking for some reason this was the $25k base model V6, so there was a bit of a blow up at the dealer. We went home, did some number crunching, decided to use my military drill money to make the car payment (it was just play money), and went back. I said, "How is it cheaper?" He laughed and said, "I gave you a better deal because you came back and found a way to make it happen." So with my deployment savings of $12,000, I walked out with a low payment and a fully loaded Camaro.

I got the GM Military Discount, USAA $750 discount and a little more off from the dealer..... and this was a ORDERED car / not a "lot" car.

Hey man! Congrats first and foremost on the new ride! I just picked up my 12 last week

That's awesome that he did that for you! All the dealers in my area are so close (within 20miles of mcdill) that usaa is the best option available. Got pics?

Hope all is well
