Good idea to buy an Ex-Rental SS?

I found a smoking hot deal on a fully loaded 2SS 2010 camaro with extremely low miles on it. The only problem is, the first 6 months & 7,000 miles of it's life was as a rental car.

Is it worth it in the long run to buy an SS camaro that has potentially been abused even if it was only brief?

Is it possible to have drivetrain issues pop up 3-4 years down the road that ultimately stemmed from abuse it took as a rental car?

Will my resale or trade-in value suffer 4-5 years down the road, or will no one care?

I don't know what to do, this car has a smoking price and still under 10k odo. I really want to buy it...

You never can tell. Some rental cars are abused, and some are just fine. Roll of the dice. But you know anyone that rented a 2SS, had to have beat on it some. Have someone inspect it. As far as trade in value down the road I wouldn't think that would affect it.

You'll be fine. 7K miles isn't to much bad driving.

Yes this is true. 7k isn't really a whole lot.

Ask yourself, If you had rented that car how would you have driven it?

That does bother me a bit, but I know these engines are sturdy enough to beat on sometimes.

I just don't know how sturdy they will be in the long run.

Should I look into getting a compression check for good measure...or is that a little silly? lol

Some brand new cars are abused too during test drives. I don't think it really matters it's a prior rental as long as the car appears to be be in good overall condition.

I wouldn't balk at a 7000 mile rental car... unless I knew it had been in an accident. If it's a great deal... scoop it up!

It was probably rented to be driven to Camaro Fest.....lol. Compared to price new vs what you may have to spend on abused parts. Shouldn't be an issue.
