I get more of a clank. Been happening since day one on my 2012 1LS. Didn't notice it during the test drive. Going from first to second and sometimes 2nd to 3rd. Only really notice it when I'm being gentle. If I'm aggressive it doesn't happen.

For the both of you I would suggest a trip to your dealers. They should be able to get you all taken care of with these noises. I hope this helps. Let me know if you guys take your vehicles in.

Mine makes the same noise in lower gears. I took it to the dealer once before the warranty expired. They said they couldn't hear it...Doesn't seem to affect anything.

I figured id let u all know that i stoped by the dealer last night and the service manager did a ridealong with me. He said it def shouldnt be making that noise. At first he said it was a broken or missing tooth in 1st gear but i pretty much proved that wrong by riding the brake an lugging it too the point of getting some gear chatter so pretty much it only does it when the clutch is being sliped. He made me an appt for tuesday so we will see what happens

Look forward to an update. Sounds like we both have the same feature.

I still cant find out where this noise is coming from but im positive its the trans cause i can feel the bumping in the shaft of the shifter. It bumps in 123 and 4 with a slight load on the driveline under 1,300 rpms in all the gears

Please keep us up to date on what they find. Mine does this too! It only happens during gentle driving, no matter how smooth you are on the clutch. If you drive hard I don't hear anything at all. It seams if you wait too long to shift or releasing the clutch in 3rd while coming out of a turn, something in the driveline will clunk one time. Maybe some sort of torque flex issue in the drive shaft?

Jeff, I took mine into the dealer and they test drove and said the engine and trans are very warm natured and they will make noise and be hard to shift until they are fully warmed up. I started driving my car a little more aggressive, when possible, and I don't hear this noise very much anymore. I figure if anything is going break hopefully it does it while in warranty.

BTW, thanks for being a part of this forum and offering your advice...its nice to see that!

I have had the exact same problem since day one. Car will surge in 1st sometimes 2nd gear and will chatter on 1st and 2nd when I'm easy on the clutch.

Jeff, I've been to the dealership twice for this problem. Both dealerships said that it is normal citing a bullentin stating something along the lines that its normal under cold transmission operating temperatures and that once the tranny fluid reaches normal operating temps, then it should be fine. I for one think this is a BS answer and that there is something wrong other than that thats affacting a lot of us. A lot of people dont have this problem. When I get back from Afghanistan, I am gonna takle this pretty strongly. Is there anything you can do from your end in regards to getting the dealership to check the tranny more thoughly or to get us replacement parts? Any info will help. I love this car soo much but the problem is killing me. Thanks in advance.

mine was making a thumping noise...turned out it was the shift boot that had slid down whacking on my driveshaft.

TJeezey, I'm sorry but I can't influence repair procedures or things like that. I can only let our technical team know about issues (which I have been) and try and talk to them about some of the questions you guys and gals have here. I am looking into this, and all the issues that get reported here, with them but so far I have nothing to report yet on any of the issues I've forwarded to them. When I get some information I will let you know immediately.

Well i finally got an answer from the head mechanic....He said "I dont know what that noise is or where its coming from" and followed by " well u have a 100,000 mile warrenty". I think it has somthing too do with the clutch because i can slip the clutch and still hear it but as soon as i start too move the noise gets louder. It sounds like a tooth missing not a chatter but a deep thumping bumping sound
