update for sale threads

Hope I am posting in the correct forum! I was wondering if anybody else feels that any for sale threads that have sold should be deleted or at least made to be updated? maybe its just me, but i think if something is posted and sold it should be taken off. Am i wrong?

It should be a courtesy that the seller should afford everyone. Its jsut good manners! but as you know.....there are people in theis world that don't have any....its just a sign of the times we live in.

wait... what?

OP: I mean it might help unclutter the classifieds a little, but to know what an item went for when it was sold is pretty helpful as well.

It should stay in there but be marked as Sold in the title.

How to hug your camaro
Buy the car that you would most like to get beat in. The other guy will always be faster.

If the seller would mark it as sold in the header, it would save potential buyers a lot of time.

in this forum you can not edit the tittle unless you are a moderator. in other forums i am on you are allowed to edit your thread tittle so this gets done all the time and is very helpful. the only thing the seller can do is post that it is sold or edit their original post to reflect the completed transaction

The Moderators may get overrun with this one (sorry mods ), but the OP of a thread could hit the report button and just ask one of the mods, in the remarks section, to delete it because it has been sold .

I agree that it is frustrating to check out numerous threads with items for sale only to find out that they have been sold and quite awhile ago. I haven't seen too many that will post the selling price either-- mostly done by PM between buyer and seller

I agree that it should be marked/edited SOLD at the first thread and or the OP should delete their thread.
I will do that as soon as I sell my L99 engine and trans with only 2000 miles!

The way it SHOULD be is

"SOLD" Marked in the Title
"SOLD" Marked in the thread.

Leave the price. Its good to know how much things sold for.

We all know this isn't going to happen because people are lazy and/or forget.

OP's should post SOLD at the top of their ad or within the actual ad. On another forum Im on, moderators lock threads where items have been sold.

so you want the mods to go through and try to figure out if an item has sold and then have them to change the thread tittle to sold? that would be the only way to do that because you can not edit the thread title... there are better things for the mods to do...

but yes it would be help full for the seller to notify anyone that may run into his thread that the item is no longer available...

Yep, it's up to the seller to be responsible.

Any way for the mods to change the settings so that the Classified section allows for the title's to be edited without changing the whole site?
