Bluetooth Aux input

Anyone use a bluetooth device that inputs into the auxillary input so that you can stream audio from your phone wirelessly. This is useful for those who have the 1LT and do not have the PDIM update.
I would like to be able to pair my phone bluetooth to the car but the pair the phone's media (music) to the bluetooth device that plugs into the auxillary input.

Thanks

My question to you is, have you read your phones manual?

Reason I ask is most phones will not allow you to answer calls while you are streaming music via bluetooth. If you phone allows this then it would seem possible.

I can stream music on my Droid Bionic. Anyone have experience with a bluetooth device that plugs into the auxillary input?

rohan,

I used to use the product in this thread:

Although, the call quality started to degrade after a few months and the media quality was mediocre. Another person used the product in this thread, but he hasn't posted an update in a while:

But has anyone used a bluetooth device that they paired to their phone for media but kept phone calls paired to the car?

You really should have read my above post instead of skipping it.

Read your phones manual. Some phones will allow this and some do not. Take for example my brothers Iphone and my Samsung Galaxy. If we connect our phones to play music via bluetooth, the phone will not allow us to be paired to answer calls.

I did not skip it. I forgot to put the other part on. I can play music and take calls while the it is paired. Plus your point does not answer my post.

I am trying to find people's experience with bluetooth streaming to a device plugged into the auxillary input.

How about my post? I initially bought the device for BT calls, but thought I would test the media streaming as well. Media streaming was mediocre, but it may just have been the particular device I was using.

So has anyone had a good response with one that they used for just media. I am wondering if anyone used the setup of pairing their phone to the car and their media to the bluetooth auxillary input.

Thanks!

It can't be done, unless you had an Ipod that was connected to the internet and then you could play the video from the ipod to the head unit. So if you took your phone and made it a 3G hotspot and connected it might work, but it wouldn't have enough bandwidth to support streaming video.

But to stream it from your phone. Can't be done. I tried, you can steam a movie from your phone, but you only get the audio.

ummm im not sure if i am being clear.

My Phone - > Music -> Bluetooth Auxillary Input adaptor -> Auxillary Input

My Phone -> Calls -> Bluetooth -> Car built in adaptor.

I know this can be done.. there are many bluetooth auxillary adaptors out there. Is no one taking advantage of this?

I'm using a Blackberry Stereo Gateway in my 1SS that didn't come with any bluetooth options and I only use it for media (I have a BT headset for calls). Found it on Amazon for around $30 a year ago. I have a cig lighter to USB adapter in the console along with the Blackberry gateway so the whole mess is nicely hidden from view.

It works well except for one extremely annoying problem. When you turn the key to start the car, the cig outlet in the console powers up as the key passes the ACC and RUN positions, then powers off while the car is starting, and powers back up. This whole process happens in a split second but it seems this power glitch is enough to cause the Blackberry Stereo Gateway to "crash" about 50% of the time. When that happens it won't pair with your phone until you unplug the gateway from power for a few seconds and plug it back in. It has happened with two different (albeit cheap) cig lighter to USB power adapters so I'm still searching for a reliable power source.
