Plastidip spoiler - To remove or not to remove spoiler?

I'm going to plastidip my spoiler and was wondering if its worth the effort and risk of removing the spoiler.. Anyone spray their spoiler all advice is welcome.

I'd definitely recommend removing the spoiler to get cleaner results. Not much risk in removing the spoiler either, it's pretty straightforward. Only thing to be careful with is removing the washer nuts, don't wanna drop them inside the trunklid lol.

As for painting, plasti dip is pretty easy to work with. Not much prep required. Just mask off the studs, make sure the spoiler is clean and do a quick rubdown with some isopropyl alcohol. Spray as you would any other spray paint.

I took your advice and removed the entire spoiler. Hung it in the garage from sting on 2 of the bolts and it worked great. 5 coats black and 3 coats gloss gave me the satin to match my hood and wheels.

Nice job, looks great! You should do your taillight bezels next

As crazy as this sounds, I'm kind of digging the chrome in small amounts. Since I blacked out the chevy logo and left the chrome around it I feel like the small chrome accents of the bezels, the camaro branding on the side, and the exhaust tips kind of tie it all together... I'm considering darkening the tail lights and side markers though...

I know what you mean, it all ties together nicely. I used to have tinted taillights with the chrome bezels, but after 6 years the tint looked like it should be replaced, so I decided to try no tint and blacked out bezels and I actually liked it better. It looked a bit more aggressive lol.

before and after:

and now with the anvil spoiler:

Hmm.. Definitely worth considering - It looks good on your car. Probably won't be awhile until I get to it though, I'm planning out summer projects now starting with LED Halos and maybe some ground effects parts depending on how bored I get over the summer haha.

Thanks! And yeah, it's something to consider. If you do decide to go the tint route, I recommend Headlight Armor. Their tint held up really well for the 6 years I had it on, especially considering my car was outside 24/7. Either way, it sounds like you have some cool stuff planned. Also, nice job on the spoiler again

Tail lights look a lot better! I may go this route also now. I wonder what it looks like on a white vehicle though

Thanks! I found these couple threads with the blacked out bezels on white:

I think the blacked out bezels works on any color, as long as you have other black accents.
