Twin or single Turbo?

Ok guys, having a dilemma...
I really like the twin set-up (3076's) for it's symmetry, but would a single 42 have any real benefits? I'm just not a huge fan of the single fitment up front.
I'll do all the fab myself, but just want the best spool with 600rwp on pump.
Hoping to get some experienced guys tell me how they like their set-ups.
Cheers

Is 600 rwhp all you want? The remote twins like most kits and set ups around the transmission is about the best place to put the twins as far as keeping heat away etc... but you could also build a nice front mount set up for a really good price and rather simple if you only wanting 600 rwhp and good spool wouldnt take a very big turbo.

Yes. I want to keep stock parts for now.
Mind you, I'd like 600rwp on my local dyno, which reads a bit low.
For reference a stock auto makes 300, mine with cai, headers, exh, and tune makes 330, and an auto with Edelbrock E-force at 9psi and cai, headers,3"exh makes 435whp.
So maybe 650whp in dynojet terms.
Either way, I do just want a fun to drive car with none of the blower trade-offs.
I just keep hearing from local guys that the 3076's will make a ton of backpressure...I'm not looking for 1000whp though, just 550-600whp, and great spool.
I know a single is slightly cheaper, and may actually be more efficient. I'm thinking 8-9lbs of boost should do it. Is the gtx42R enough turbo for a single though? It should spool very nicely on a 6.2L.

Twin Turbos will spull up a lil faster. A Garret gt42 (which I am assuming that's the turbo you are taking about) should get you to to the 600rwhp mark but do you want to make more than 600 or will you be satisfied. If you want more go twin or a larger single turbo. With any FI build you want to leave room to grow.

I'd stay away from the remote mount setups, although the lag has gotten better. I personally would stay away from a large single turbo. I have tranny mounted twin turbos (from IPS) and have no issues with lag. There's plenty of cars making 650whp+ all day long. I've been in single turbo cars (not a camaro) and although they're fast, the spool usually sucks, even with the A/R upgrades and a billet wheel, ball bearings, etc.

Do you have a dyno chart? They use similar turbos, so I'd love to see the spool-up.

Just looked through your build thread! Very nice.
Anybody have stock twin set-ups with dyno charts they could post?

Was just going to post that dyno from IPS. Here's their thread on their TT kit

I would consider the ips and tti kits remote mount. If it's not front mount under hood than it's remote mount. Most ppl that have a problem with lag have way to large of a turbo. On a 6.2 auto you can pretty much choose whatever turbo you want and make 600 rwhp. I would choose something in around a 76 compressors range and something over 70 atleast on the turbine side t4 .96 ar should work. Twins I would go with whatever ips uses in their base kit. It would be hard to have alot of backpressure with twins at 600 rwhp unless you went tiny tiny. You can always upgrade turbo(s) I would size accordingly for now.

Thanks guys. That curve is really what I am looking for. Nice clean, aggressive climb, and not 600ft/lbs at 1500rpm!
That looks like it would be a blast to drive.
I think twin gtx3076's with tial housings and BOV/wastegates it is!
I'll do a build thread once I order it up and get moving!
Cheers

My friend on here Cyber Predator has the IPS TT kit on his car and it rolls out pretty hard. I'd recommend that kit.

IPS ships their kit with a choice of 3 turbos, (GT35R series) and Tial wastegates and a BOV.

Twins do spool faster but singles are more reliable. Ive had both a single garret 4094 and cheetah twins on the truck.
