2010 Equinox First Drive - Jalopnik

Way to go pre-nationalization GM! We will definitely be considering this when it comes time to replace the wife's '04 Taurus wagon.

This helps prove what I have been telling people at work. There is much better product in the pipeline at GM than people think. The economy tanked at about the worst possible moment for GM.

Here's hoping that GM continues massive improvements, the gov't gets out of the way, and people learn to open their eyes about what GM is now (not 1984)!

Yup. My wife raises guide-dog puppies, so she just needs something with a large open cargo area, nothing too fancy because dog fur gets everywhere, and should get similar or better fuel economy as our current V6-powered midsize sedan-based wagon. A FWD, I4, 1LT Equinox could fit the bill just about perfectly. Of course, towing a jetski or tent trailer would be nice too, so we'll have to look at tow ratings for each drivetrain combo.

I was in MI all last week and I saw 5...Each time I was like wow what is that! They look GREAT in person. Finally, there was one parked at Kroger so I was able to get a good look at the interior...very nice! I am not much of an SUV person, but this will be a great option for people who need room.

The sad thing is, my dad is a GMC fan, and wanted to trade his Envoy in for something smaller, but he was so impressed by my mom's Mazda3 that he got a Tribute. Now both Mazdas are very fine cars, especially the 3, but I'm sure he would have loved the Terrain if he had waited just a bit longer. Sadly, his car purchases tend to be impulsive.

Waiting on GMS pricing and Cash for Clunkers money.

Then it may be goodbye Sonoma.
