M6 on Hold got me - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

My car was to be accepted for production tomorrow 7-16-09.

I told my dealer late yesterday about the M6 on hold issue that was buzzing here on Camaro5. He checked on it this morning and of course confirmed it. He called me as soon as he confirmed and asked if I wanted to change it to auto which I declined because I want to keep the driving fun in it and make the tires bark when I want.

My dealer is an excellent small farming community dealer, I ordered 12-4-08 and was order #1. Seven months later still order #1 untill today. The #3 order will be accepted for production tomorrow and he placed his order in early June. Lucky dog

Hopefully Tremec will get thier $hit together and get it resolved soon. The good part about it the trannie should be right if and when I ever get my Camaro.

Am I the only one with tears in my beer this week?

I thought I read that the "production" of manuals is not on hold... just the shipping... they're still making them while they figure out what the problem is/was. Are they no longer accepting orders?

My was produced Monday and was shipped yesterday and in transit to birmingham!!

They also have the invoice for it!!

So im guessing they are letting some go!!

Did they say it was on hold in production? Another thread said they were still building but, not delivering. This bodes well for me if they don't build them for a while. I had to dig into savings to buy the Mrs. a vehicle. A little extra time to save some more would be good. But, the wait is killing me as well. I keep torturing myself by stopping on my way home from work top drool on my dealer's Camaro inventory. They have a manual SS on the showroom floor. Haven't sat in one with manual yet until yesterday. It fits perfect. So I guess I can wait.

His district manager told him if he didn't want to lose his alocation for tomorrow that it needed to be an Automatic.
Manual transmissions will not be accepted into the build system.
Sounds like constraint to me.

He did say he was going to verify it before he submits the Automatic car tomorrow just to be sure. I hope his district manager is full of crap but we will see.

What I think happened is everyone who was at 3400 broadcast prior to the shutdown, got produced (b/c the parts were already there).

Everyone who wasn't at 3400 prior to shut down got pushed back b/c the parts weren't there/problems.

I think you will be produced and sent to QC, b/c your tranny is already there.

All of my cars are manual transmissions and I am not going shiftless now. This car deserves a manual tansmission.

Timberline, OSU Cowboy, and anyone else in this situation, My dealer got a surprise allocation this week and my order is going to go now since the M6 constraint has been lifted. I sure hope this happened to you also.
