Exclamation 7 Second Hold For Competition Mode????

I was curious, with the issues that some people are having with the L99 and slower than expected 0-60 times, I read thru my manual carefully to get the Competition Mode sequence correct.
I read in a few threads that some were saying to put it into Comp Mode that you have to hold the TC button down for 7 sec. but no where in the manual does it say this. The manual says to press the TC button 2x to turn off traction control and this puts it into Comp Mode which should show up on the DIC panel.
Can someone please clarify where the 7 second button hold comes from and what is the correct way to put the car into Comp. Mode.

Thanks Guys

Holding the button for 7 seconds turns off both Traction Control and Stabilitrak. Hitting the button twice puts you in Competition mode where I believe Traction Control is off and Stabilitrak is relaxed (not off, but not fully on).

So which do we think is best on trying our 0-60 times. Those that had issues never mentioned putting it into only the Comp mode but they did do the 7-sec. hold to turn everything off. Could this make there times better by running in the Comp. mode. But maybe they did and I just misunderstood.

Thanks

Thanks for the reply. Why was this feature never mentioned in the manual and where was this information found? It seems like that is a feature that the owners manual should have discussed.

i've read where running in COMP MODE (2 clicks of the button) has saved someones tail in a corvette because the track had an unnoticed wet spot from the previous car. when the vette hit the wet spot under full power it wanted to get sideways but the stabilitrack helped save it. if your car gets sideways.... you could care less about your timed run.
stabilitrack is no guarantee... but im sure it helps avoid getting squirly!

I think having either Competition mode or both off will give the best 0-60 times. In both modes, TC is off.

You are very correct my friend in the vette world of drag racing it's very smart to turn the traction control off and leave active handling on, if your car is equipped with such.

you dont have to hold anything for 7 seconds, I just push the button to turn the TC off and then press it again quickly twice and the DIC will read Competition Mode

No, what they're saying is if you hold the TC button down for 7 sec, it will turn everything off (the TC and Stability).

If you push the TC botton quickly twice, it puts you in Competitive mode. Competitive mode turns off TC but partially leaves on Stability.

That's what I've been reading from guys. So supposedly theres a difference between competitive mode and the 7 sec (everything turned off) mode.

So far, I've just been using D (drive), M (Sport), and M (tap shift) with TC on and off.

I haven't tried Competitive mode or the 7 sec (everything off mode) yet.

That would mean your getting maximum power. So that should be the fastest mode at the track.
Time will tell.
