sorry about that. Salesman are salesman alot suck alot dont. I wouldnt blame Gm for the dealers idiocy. Many dealers right now dont matter what dont know a lot about the camaro, either theyve had very few or none at all at their lot. dealers are not owned or operated by GM, nor do they have anything to do with the cars and their quality. its like going to Gander mountain and they suck at selling you a remington rifle, just because gander sucks doesnt mean the remington rifle does

Completely agree and feel the exact same way about that other dealership too.
Although it probably wont help I would love to get email addresses of VPs at GM to send them my story and so others can share theirs. It is a shame.

During one day I checked out all Chevrolet Dealers on Long Island New York. After not having purchased a new GM car for over 20 years I again realized why. I believe that all the misinformed & underhanded individuals now left in the world now work on Long Island in the remaining Chevrolet Dealerships. Until I made my last stop at Bast Chevrolet in Seaford Long Island, New York I was quite convinced that I was way out of my league attempting to deal with any of these hooligans. At Bast, I was greeted by a man I would later realize was the holy grail of salesman. He proceeded to describe in great detail the order process, expectations for delivery, the mind blowing features of the Camaro as well as the upside to buying at Bast. Needless to say, I felt compelled to move forward & buy the car. During the following three weeks I visited Bast a number of times & was warmly received by everyone including my salesperson. I was treated as if I was a relative of the owner even after I bought the car. This was amazing to me. Unfortunately, a short time thereafter GM decided to include Bast Chevrolet on the "WE DO NOT WANT YOU LIST". I was given my deposit back, no monkey business, no jerk around delays, no prodding to buy a vehicle they did have. This is a first class dealership that GM has terminated. I feel it only ironic that the worst Chevrolet dealership (which is only a few miles east on the same road) with a cast of supreme hooligans was left to continue with the blessings of GM. Finally, I would like to reveal that Mr Al Dobbs was the general salesmanager at Bast who treated me with the respect & attention that no other salesperson anywhere on Long Island could muster. Someone needs to reach out and correct this situation so that Mr Dobbs can continue enlightening & informing the public about the ever increasing value of owning a GM vehicle. Thanks to anyone who took the time to listen. I remain "THE OLD TIMER".
This is how The Government runs a business.. I am in the Public School Government industry and I can tell you they do not hire people based on quality.. If you are in a position and you are a bad teacher, you keep your job while good teachers and some good potential teachers that are fresh out of school cannot even go and apply until there is an opening. The School system here in Miami Dade, Florida fired 60 teachers at random, some good, some bad..have closed applications..When you try calling the operator in charge of routing your calls for when you want a job, they really don't care.. When you graduate as a teacher from a respected University, you are treated no different than someone who simply took a test and got certified. That is because the Government isn't looking for quality, simply the Government finds people to place in positions when needed... My point is that the Government didn't look at quality of the dealerships when deciding which ones to close down which is a shame..

First sorry for your situation, anyhow from my understanding dealerships aren't instantly being closed. They have till some time next year I may be wrong, but anyhow i don't believe they loose their allocations instantly. What they usually do at worse if they are going to close on their own is, GM transfers their allocation to a neighboring dealership where they complete your order. Anyhow it almost sounds fishy like they know their done so they may be trying to sell all their allotted Camaros at top dollar. I would check the status of your order if you have your order number with one of the dealers here something tells me your order is progressing along just fine. Anyhow best of luck on whatever you do.

Not GM's fault...it's a case of RDS. Rotten Dealership Syndrome.

No. They lose the allocations. They will not receive any more cars of any model from GM.

GM cannot manage every single salesperson at every dealer. If you've had a bad experience get the salesperson's name and let the general manager of the dealership know and file a complaint with GM.

I'm sure a lot of good dealers will go under and a lot of good people will lose their jobs in this mess.

GM and most dealerships take those surveys you fill out after you purchase a car very seriously.

You're absolutely right. In fact....they didn't look at all!!

Sorry to hear about your situation, Old Timer. Customer satisfaction was but one of the criteria they looked at when deciding which dealer franchises to cancel. Plus, a few were bound to slip through the cracks...thankfully there was an appeal period.

Really sorry to hear about your order was canceled .... with that said...

Thats weird why would the government shut down dealerships? So there are some on the chopping block but I was reading that the decisions were made on a marketing criteria. With that being said " The basis of each dealership was shut down due to lack of sales or orders placed by the dealership".

Pretty simple strategy - John Doe don't sell cars John Doe needs to expect the repercussions.
