Cam, intake, full exhaust and tune will get you between 450-475rwhp. You might be able to get there with a few more bolt ons but may be tough w/o any sort of FI

CAM, headers/exhaust, CAI, ported heads

That should do it.

How "rough" are you willing to live with. 500rwhp NA will require you to use a pretty big cam, which isn't "that" bad in a manual tranny car, but it will be pretty rowdy...if your a young guy, you'll probably be alright, if not, you may want to think about FI. ALOT of guys are seeing well over 500rwhp with a TVS and headers only...certain vendors will even warranty powertrain with this setup.

I'm 26 so the louder the better! I've always liked the fact that the engine by itself can produce the power to the wheels. I'm not too fond of the whine of a supercharger or the worst a turbo which just makes a more annoying ricer sound, JMHO. I figured I would have to get ported at one point to produce that much power. Thanks for the advice guys!

What heads are you talking about, the GM performance parts ported heads? Can't remember the price but they seemed pretty reasonable.

Heads, Cam, Intake, Long Tubes, and some little bits and pieces and your at 500RWHP easy. But you should also look at a new clutch and make sure you have someone that can tune the crap out of a LS3. If it's a daily driver I would seriously NOT recommend it especially since your in Cali. EPA will eat you alive out there.

Correct me if I'm wrong but BHP is "brake horsepower", not RWHP...so it would not include drivetrain loss...

Check out this article from GMHTP... Look at the cam size

There are several bolt-on + cam combos pulling 500rwhp on LS3 Vettes and I think I've seen a Camaro already. Heads do not need to be touched to reach 500rwhp, of course the sam is nig and migh not be your idea of streetable.

L92/LS3 heads. get'em ported, polished, and throw some good valvetrain parts at them and they will rock your socks off.

I just noticed that your from Cali. Are you planning on moving out? Go with FI and be done with it, be able to pass SMOG and still have room to grow. With the new TVS its pretty quiet.

Good luck with that, I've heard of folks getting busted with modded GTO's in Cali. Just looking out for a fellow GM owner.
