Paddle shifters in AUTOCROSS racing.

Last year at fest they got in the way. They were awful. I'm going to take them off the next time I race. Anybody else have this problem?

I'm with Blake on this..... your hands should be at the 9 and 3 position and never move.

T.

PS. I do not have an auto so I am unfamiliar with this phenomena though.

The drag strip is like sniffing glue, it's cheap, it's a decent buzz, it doesn't last long and they are all the same.
Road racing is like China White Heroin, the buzz is stronger, the high lasts for hours, it's extremely addictive and they are all different.
I can't wait for my next
Track fix.

10 and 3 are right were the Paddle shifters are on the inside of the stearing wheel. :( And the even more madding thing is they work even when your not in SPORT MODE :(

The Indy Camaro course didn't have that much of a need to move your hand position on the wheel. I guess if your going into a 180, there would be a problem. If you invested the money into them, I would try to get used to them before I would take them off. It's kind of like turning the nannies off, you have to keep trying before you just say I'm not going to do that anymore.

I never had a problem with them at autox or track days. I loved them, i could see the extension kit that is out there being helpful. How exactly do they get in the way? I cannot visualize this.

They should only work in S mode once you tap one of them it changes to M mode. in D mode they will not work.

It is something you will have to get use to. I have had one time where I hit it by accident. I like to use them on the autox course. Just practice it will come to u
