Supercharger Rattle
My supercharger only rattles when I turn off the ignition. At what point will I know if it needs to be replaced? I mean, will it rattle upon normal driving or "spirited" driving? Any comments would be appreciated.

It sounds like you're ready for a new isolator. It's a cheap and easy fix. Also a great time for a pulley swap.

The standard test for SC rattle is to have the dealer listen to the engine at idle, to listen for the rattle, the rev the engine to around 1500 rpms or so I believe. If the rattle goes away, it's considered 'normal' if you can still hear the rattle, then they change the entire SC assembly which includes the isolator.

Just had mine done under warranty about a month ago. Heard the noise and took it to them. They replaced the entire supercharger. Runs great now, no noise.

Mine getting replaced tomorrow. Then off to Jannetty's for headers and 75 rwhp Kit and tune. Btw my rattle was very minor. I have a great dealership in South Jersey, had no problem asking them to please replace it now rather then later. Wanted to start modding my car and wanted no crap after the tune was installed they understood. Good luck with yours

There is in fact a 10 year 120,000 mile warranty now for our cars. Literally if you show up at "MOST" dealerships its a done deal and will be replaced. Expect 1-2 days to be without your car. Chevy provided a loaner car for me to use when I got mine done. The reason I say most is because there are those few that apparently can not read or just choose to be lazy Jack asses.
