Oem Camera doesn't auto turn on in reverse with Aftermarket radio - help? - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

So I've installed everything myself, so far everything works great! Except for the camera that's the only issue, camera turns on in reverse but doesn't auto turn on, I have to tied in with the reverse wire on the head unit, now i'm assuming that I need to change it from that to the Schoche wiring harness violet/white wire for it to auto turn on?

Can anyone chime in here? The camera turns on, but doesn't auto turn on in reverse.

Scosche Violet/white should be connected to HU Orange/white.

Also (at least on Pioneer) you have a setting on head unit to activate camera on +12V.

Ok I can do that, but I'm using the camera adapter that has the plug and speed sense on one side and yellow rca on other side. So connecting speed sense from camera adapter to orange will make it auto change to Reverse camera?

Which camera adapter plug are you using?

Ok! You need to connect the speed sense wire from the camera adapter to the Pink wire on the Scosche kit and the Green/White of the head unit. From what I can tell from the Metra install pdf and the other 2 diagrams you provided, all three of those wires should be tied together.

Then you should just need to plug the camera RCA into the Camera2 input on the head unit.

On the pioneer head units, you have to go into the menu and select "Battery" as the Camera polarity setting.

Which head unit are you using? Is it a Kenwood?
