Having to pay to paint GFX ?

Just curious.... my dealer has told me the paint to match for my GFX is not included in the cost. All paint charges are the customer's responsibility. Also it mentions any painting will void the warranty on the GFX. I am going to paint them, it will cost me another $500. Is this what others are experiencing??

That is correct, they do not come painted and even GM's car showing them was not painted to match the car.

10-4 on the warranty !!

The color of the GFX is called Dark Argent Metallic

It's pretty close to CGM, but a tad off.

Is there a reason why GM didn't offer this as an option at the plant to have them installed and painted.

My dealer is painting mine for $600. They said warranty will cover all since they are doing the work. I can't see why paint would void anything.

The body shop that paints them SHOULD warrantee their work, depending on their policy... Just find one that will..

My dealer will definately stand behind their work..... he told me in the "instuctions" that if they are painted it would void the warranty on the GFX themselves..... WTF? anyway he is charging me $500 he also thought not painting in the rear diffuser (fake grill area) would look better anyone seen or had that done ??

My Dealer
Vara Chevrolet on 35 South in San Antonio wants 750... I've been calling around town and there are places willing to do it for 400, 420 + paint, 480, and then Tom Benson Chevrolet said they'd do it for 600.

I'd like to take the gfx painted but not for that much. I can't take them with me in the Camaro cuz they're in a box the size of a fridge, says the dealer.

Vara Chevrolet Agreed to 600, to paint them. They've been getting painted this morning. I can't wait to see what they look like on my car.
