Is my 2010 Camaro covered under the new 5 year 100,000 mile powertrain warranty?

Is my 2010 Camaro covered under the new 5 year 100,000 mile powertrain warranty? I bought it 8/7/09, I read through the information, and it looks like this is retro back to 07 GM models. If true, that is a nice plus

The weird thing is, I was always under the impression that the whole car was 5/100. According to a local dealer, he thinks the powertrain is 5/100 and the bumper-to-bumper is 3/36.

Is my dealer an idiot blur?

So, its 5/100,000 on the powertrain, but 3/36,000 on everything else? Where can I find out more about the retroactive 5/100 warranty?

It's a 5 year/100,000 mile POWERTRAIN warranty. The BUMPER-TO-BUMPER warranty is 3 years/36,000 mile warranty.

Why do a lot of people think this is brand new? This has been around with every new GM since 07!

I lost steering on an out of state interstate several months ago 100 miles from home in my Impala. It could have been disasterous!. Limped off an exit and pulled into a gas station that repaired the blown hose for $105.00. I submitted the bill to G.M. as requested. They called yesterday and informed my they were only paying 50%- ($52.00) as I didn't take my car to a Chevy dealer for repairs. Is that nuts or what ?. We could have been killed. Saved them a tow. Nickled and dimed me for a $100.00 warranty claim. I'm glad this wasn't a $500.00 repair Job. This does not renew my faith in G.M.
I guess the lesson is always use the dealer weather it's an emergency or not.
