I suggest you email gmpartsdirect.com customer service customerservice@gmpartsdirect.com with your VIN# (they need that to verify the model) and ask about the lense parts for the RS - they'll have diagrams of the parts and part #, and if in stock or available the prices.

They've helped me and other members track down the part #s and fulfill ordered if available.

order them from your dealer. Support a local company.

We've got the Acrylic covers, they let 95% of the light through when you push the breaks and still look blacked out when the lights are off.

Here is a picture:

Cool HeadlightArmor, another solution

Or you could go with one of our smoked taillight kits

Stock VS. Light Smoke (50%)

More information in our vendor thread here

damn both of those look great!! rpi, when u say it lets 95% light thru, thats just 5% short of how lit up it is already rite? but those lenses look completely BLACK!! is that the advantage with acrylic over vinyl?

If you used vinyl there would be 0% light coming through, because its opaque. Its what the stripes you buy from the dealer are made out of. So I don't reccomend those The acrylic one actaully looks decently good. To RPI, I'm sure however he would be interested in a picture with the lights on as well, just for confirmation.

too funny.

If you are refering to our lighting kits then no, they are not made from the material the stripes are made from. They are made from lighting protection film, which is designed to protect the lights and in colored / smoked form pass light at various levels as further explained here

Choices are good! Both options have pluses and minuses, depends on what you want. As for our film's durability, they (the smoked and other colors) are an evolution of our clear protective headlight materials. They were designed to withstand and protect the headlights from being sand blasted to death. (For those of you with a clear bra, these are ~3x thicker for a comparison.) In a taillight application they really do lead an easy life.
