A cam swap should get you to about 480 fwhp, if you do the work yourself it would be under a grand. Although I would do headers first, but it will cost you more than 1k.

Well I think you are referring to HP at the crank rather than the rear wheels in your initial post. Either way you are looking for 74 HP. I got a cam & headers last week & only gained 80 HP. That cost me $2500. So I have to agree with Nitrous being your only way.......

If you throw in a super agressive cam you might, but you lose streetablility with the LS3. I bet you could with an L99 though, Comp Cams gained 69rwhp with a aggressive cam and tune. You add a CAI and you have over 75rwhp easily. Keep in mind that the L99 is geared more aggressively so 475hp (400+75) on an L99 is about as quick as 500hp (425+75) from the LS3. VVT keeps the low end power up for good street manners.

A cam is fine on a six speed..you can get as agressive as you want...u just need to ensure the person who did the cam and the tuning know what they are doing..to ensure that you have acceptable drivablity to your taste

Very well said.
But, also you might want to upgrade your valve train as well if you do decide to go with a nasty cam. Which in part, will run you more money.
AND, do not forget the tune!!

No, that is why it can lose low end power with a large cam profile. The L99 has VVT and Comp Cams has had some impressive gains while maintaining bottem end power.

FYI-Some posts are confusing...all SS Camaros are 6-speeds (M6 & A6).
