GM CANADA Members Ratify New Collective Agreement

GM Canada employees have ratified a new collective agreement, however, I thought it would have been more than 64.7% in favour.
It seems that a lot of workers still, and will never, have a lot of faith in the organization and/or the auto industry here in Canada...I don't blame them.
Talk is cheap.

Here is a statement released by GM Canada

I hear there is product moving from Mexico to Canada.

This will be a historic first since NAFTA was ratified

All the jobs will be in Mexico if the Union keeps it up.

The problem with the automotive industry in Mexico is the quality of worker. Also the criminals have a say in what happens as well. Quality is s big concern for cars being built there

The real problem here is that American workers are not making any money. Send manufacturing to another country so they make the money. NAFTA at its best.

I wonder if the price of a Gen6 would be 30% less for USA purchasers if it was still made in Canada.

I agree and that is one of the reasons I purchased mine before the transfer. Thinking there will be a major price increase. The decision to move from Canada to the States was decided before there was a fall in CAD. I think there would have been a whole lot less bitching about the price increase for the gen 6 if production stayed here in Canada.

My 2 cents

I wish the Camaro production would have stayed in Canada, but, I would rather buy a car built in the USA than Mexico.

The price increase on the 6th Gen trim levels , in Canada, was actually less then in the USA.
