Need help buying Zaino Products

Hello fellow Camaro owners.

I have been reading the forums and have come to the conclusion as many of you have already that Zaino is the best thing to use on my new car. The problem I am having is the selection on their site and I could use some help with what exactly to buy.

Consider money to be irrelevant. When you take in to account the 34k I just spent on my 2SS / RS Black muscle car, the last thing I am worried about is how much the wax cost to keep her looking good. I am also looking for something from their site to use as a quick wash / wax detailer for say, when my sprinklers hit my car parked at work.

I looked at the Zaino Ultimate Protection Show Car Kit from their site, but it seems to have a lot of extra stuff I just don't need, so what would you guys recommend.

Ohh, and by the way. I just built some ramps to start doing my oil changes and think they are coming along nice. I just have to primer, paint them black, and stick my "bitchin Camaro" sticker on the side. I'm not letting anyone change the oil in this baby, but me.

Thanks in advance for any help guys...

I bought this kit.

Z2, Z5, Z6, accelerator, applicator pads, wash liquid, bucket, clay bar because I did not let the dealer do the prep work, tire dressing, leather cleaner and leather lotion, and the blonde towels. While I didn't care about the leather care stuff (it came with the kit) I'm glad I did because it does works well. I haven't used the tire dressing so I have no idea how it performs.

That works! I have the 2SS also so it has the leather interior and I've already used the 2 Zaino leather products. It's great stuff and I love the way my car looks when she's all clean - which is most of the time

Sold... I read the kit and think it will do nicely. Did you guys apply Z5 and Z2 or just Z2 followed by the Z6?

I have not used the Z5 yet because I don't see any swirls (yet I know they are coming!) so just Z2 and Z6.

Somebody please tell me if I am missing out on something by not using the Z5 if I believe I am swirl free for now.

I'm on 6 coats of Z2 already on my 2SS. No Z5 as of yet. Should be set for the winter protection-wise. I'm not downing Z5, I use it all the time on my black '04 Impala SS. Z2 is just a little better in terms of gloss & depth, and if you don't need the anti-swirl, why use Z5?

I'm not a fan of the tire dressing. it seems to pick up dirt/dust faster than a bare tire. Its still better than any other dressing I've personally used.

I picked up the ultimate show car kit plus bucket as well. I'd def. recomend the bucket, that grit guard is nice!

I think the coldest recommended is 60 d F, the colder it is the longer it takes for the products to set/dry (hours difference between 60 and 70 degrees).
If you can, do it in a heated garage or on a warm day.

I have several coats on my car. I used the Z5 because I have a dark color car, followed by Z2 x 2 and CS last. I am not waiting on my naked eye to detect the small swirls, if you drive, wash, and dry then they are there. Other times, like this week, I put on a coat of Z2 after a wash. If your car is an everyday drive, the All in One is good too. I used that on my wife's CTS as a base before Z5 then Z2. She actually told me the "car is awfully shiny don't you think!" She is not used to a clean car--kills me! If you are going for the showroom look all the time, I recommend the initial to be about 3 coats, followed by 3 coats about 3 weeks later. Then at least one a month after that. That is where I am now.

Z2 is better for shine. But make sure you get the protective base coat in there, either use the ZFX or All in One--very important.

Z6 is great to use between washes to shine it up, and between coats also. I use the high end stuff Grand Finale as the last wipe down after layers of polish. I really recommend the Z7 for your washes--really good car shampoo.

Really good stuff--make her shine!

This is a great starter kit! I bought it as well, then just replace items as needed. I go through the leather cleaner/conditioner fast...I use it on all my leather seats, it smells great! Try to apply in 60 degrees or higher...a heated garage will work if you take delivery in the winter months. Good luck. Zaino is a great product!
