Correct RS stripe placement

I am going to have some rally sport stripes painted on my car soon and I have seen several pics of the rear area of the car and some have the stripes coming up to the top edge of the rear spoiler without it overlapping and some have it just over the lip where you could see them from the rear of the car.

anyone know what GM says about how the stripes are to be put on the car? I know it comes down to how the person wants it on their car but I was just wondering if there were some offical guidlines.

Thanks,
Richard

I actually haven't seen any of the GM stripes that go over the back edge. Those pieces aren't very long so they wouldn't extend downvery much. 1/4" maybe The GM instructions that come with the factory/dealer installed stripes (when they were dealer installed back in the day) ended the spoiler strips on the top (upward facing) surface of the spoiler.

But you're having them painted on. So why not get them however you like them?

The rally stripes don't come over the top of the spoiler so they really can't be seen from the rear unless you can see on top of the trunk. However, I agree with Canadian Camaro, get the stipes painted the way you like. There are no rules.

The ones that I have seen that have the stripe come over the rear spolier are on the RS or RS/SS (red lettering) packages. I havent seen a SS with the striping over the rear spoiler.

I have an RS and the stripes don't come over the spoiler. I believe the differences you are seeing are when people are putting on the aftermarket Bumblebee stripes, which are longer and wider than the factory stripes.

I have the factory stripes, but hopefully will be pulling them off in the next month or so to have Bumblebee stripes painted on.

You mean the factory Bumblebee stripes on the Transformers package? The Camaro at Marine Chevy here in Jacksonville has the stripes painted coming over the spoiler, like half way.

The Bumbleebee stripes and the Transformers stripes are completely different.

The Bumbleebee stripes are just like what infernoinandout posted on his car, that being said, that is how they appeared in the movie.

The Transformers edition stripes are just like the regular factory stripes, except that they say Transformers on one side.

Other then the stripes being slightly larger, and the Transformers on the hood, they are the same. I havent seen any differences, I have seen them up close.

This is the perfect stripe size imo.

Car looks awesome. Every time I see a different color it makes me want to change my mind. I guess that's because they all look hot.
