All you guys with headers.... warranty question.

Been looking through the threads for a couple days and it seems alot of people are putting headers on. Now, correct me if I'm wrong but it will void your warranty right? I had headers on my 04 mach 1 years ago and loved them (minus the little bit of low end i lost) but my dealer told me no-go when it came to warranty. And pretty much over the past from what I've gathered with the rest of my mustangs is a midpipe and catback are no problem. But 90% of dealerships will flag you if you have some longtubes on. Just wondering if something has changed recently on these new camaros where as we can put headers on without worry of voiding the 5yr/100k warranty... b/c to me, thats a damn good warranty.

It all depends on the dealer. I have seen some dealers warranty camaros with full bolts ons and a tune(LTs, full exhaust, CAI, pulley). Some others wont warranty anything with just a CAI installed.

It will be up to your dealer. Technically when you put long tube headers and high flow cats (or race pipe) on your car, you're moving and or changing the vehicles emission system. The race cats that come with the long tube header don't meet emission's regulations.
Long tube headers are not improved equipment for street use. They are ment for "off road" use only.
So GM or your dealer could fight you over many engine related issues.

But
Most dealers don't mind headers, catbacks or intakes. I would talk to your local service manager about the issue.

But there are service managers that say even an intake will void your engine warranty. Technically, that's not true. But he could definately make life difficult for you if you did have an issue.

And realize, for anyone with an L99 A6. You will need a tune if you get long tube headers. AFM will drive you crazy if you don't.

Yeah that's about what I figured... All depends on my local dealership. I'll contact the service dept I guess and feel them out.

For all who asked, the girl is Jamie Eason. She's a fitness model from right here in Texas (Houston to be exact). And yes, she's oh so fine but take my word for it, she could beat all our asses. Freakin ripped!!

If you go with the New ARH headers we sell, it is real easy to slip your stock cats and manifolds back in

I will have to look here up

I thought the shorty headers do not void warranty? Well, I guess anything not on GM's approved list would...I'm getting the ARH Shorty's next year...this year's budget is gone :(
