After Market Hurst Shifter

I installed my new after market Hurst shifter today #391 6030.It has a 44% shorter throw. I couldn't beleive the difference in the throw. The shifter only travels about 2" from first to second. It made the performance of the car all together different. Looks cool with the flat chrome stick and white ball. Only took about 1 1/2 hours to install it. Most of the work is done from the bottom. A must have for the 6 speed manual. Sorry I can't get any pictures right now. After my brother drove it, he is going to get one also. I guess I'll have another one to install.

Big Difference. Too bad it's in the garage for the winter. I guess it will still be brand new next spring.

How much did it cost? I am looking to get one in spring also. The stock throgh is way to long for me.

No rattle at higher RPMs? I have heard different experiences?

I really want the t-handle, but know the nylon bushings aren't particularly awesome from other Hurst shifter.

There is some rattle under load in 2nd and third. It could be worse but I took the advice from the guy on the original thread who used his Camaro to help Hurst in the development. That was to wrap the linkage you could get to with Dynamat. I put some underneath and on top. I'm sure it cut down the vibration quite a bit. If this a concern you can always use the stock ball and upper that comes with the kit. Most things I've read says the vibration is normal with a performance shifter. It doesn't bother me. As for price, I bought mine from TCSpeedCustom out of Stuart, FL. They were to receive the first 100 produced and I believe I was early in that lot. Price was introductory at $359.95, but I think I've seen them as low as $289.95 now.
Enjoy
