2011 Camaro Ordered

Hi All,

Just wanted to share with you all that I just put in my order through AAA car buying service for a 2011 Camaro with Rally Yellow, 2LT/RS, Automatic, and Grey leather interior. With the new GM graduate discount it will save me about $1k, which is even more than the USAA discount I would have gotten for being ex-military.

The order will go to GM on 5/6, and I will hopefully get an order number then. As for the final price, I will have to wait to see what it will be, but I only had to give a $250 deposit to get the process started, which is not bad.

I know some might have advised me to get the SS or even a manual, but this will be my daily driver, and I drive 30 miles one way in rush hour traffic.

Beside if I want to get a thrill from horsepower and a manual I will drive the 65 Ford GT fastback that I custom built to do just that. Yes, I have a Ford, but I have been a GearHead for so long that I love all types of muscle cars, and the manufacturer does not really come into play, as long as it is cool. The Camaro is just that, way too cool.

Now all I have to do in the meantime is wait!!!!!!!!!!

I have attached a couple of pics of my ride, as I remember reading here w/o pics it is not real.

Thanks for reading.

GearHeadPeter

P.S. Maybe a sticky should be created that all new 2011 orders can be put in to, and if there is one already I apologize in advance.

Welcome!! Awesome good deal with those discounts. I'm paying MSRP (but no fees!) for my 2011 LS3.

Psssst....You don't need to come up with excuses as to why you picked the V6 over the V8. In your case, the six is better for your needs. Plus, its a more modern and more advanced engine and puts out more power per displacement than the LS3 and L99, and more efficiently too. In fact, GM is switching to direct injection on their next line of V8s. Feel proud as $hit about your choice. Way to go GM !

Thanks for the compliments on the Stang. It took me 2 1/2 years to build and customize it to the way I like.

As soon as I find out the final price from AAA I will let all know to see if that is the better way to go when buying the Camaro.

Many people asked me why I did not by the SS, and your explanation Patriot is normally what I tell them. I then show them the pics of my Stang, and they seem to understand quite nicely and want a ride, but have also told me they want a ride in the Camaro when I get her.

From what I have been reading on this great forum, the wait is the worst part. Even my coming home from overseas on an Aircraft carrier was not as bad as this wait is probably going to be.

I have learned so much from this forum that when I do finally get my Camaro I will be able to customize her from all the great advise.

Thanks to all.

Beautiful stang. I, too, have a 65 GT Fastback and mine also has the 17" bullitt wheels off a 2005 stang. Gorgeous car.

GearHeadPeter:
Congrats on your order. Love the tail lights on the Stang.

Agree with above comment, you don't ever have to make excuses for your choice of car, mods, etc. It's your car, your paying for it - get what you like - get with you want.

For the record, I have a 35+ mile commute and went with the 2SS anyay- ya only live once, huh??

Keep reading threads, you will learn so much from this awesome "family". Lori

It is nice to see that Camaro's and Mustangs can coincide peacefully together from the pics I have just seen.

Yes, my Stang is a WIP (Work in Progress) and will never be done. LOL Kmthrockmorton, you have the garage I am dreaming about having one day. When my Camaro comes in I also will be taking pics of the two of them together. Then I will have to decide which one do I take out today.

CaniacFan, thanks for the words of wisdom on the car. I have to constantly keep telling people that I did what I did to my Mustang for a reason, I wanted to do it, and also to have the car as modern as possible while still preserving the classic lines.

That is why I love the Camaro as it has great lines that the new Mustang is lacking.

I will keep you all posted as to the final price of the Camaro.
