Small point, but----

Ordered a 2011 with reasonable discount, but what capped the sale was sales manager says, " Oh yah, a front license plate holder is included but we won't install it". What a guy. Sometimes it's little things that make you think you're dealing with a car guy, not somebody just off selling mayonaise to markets.
This is in CA where a font plate is required, but at least I get to decide how, where, and if, it's installed.
ps: the flip up front plate holders. How much ground clearance do they eat up, if any?

My CA dealer had me sign a waiver to that affect

Can't answer the question. Still working on my solution to get my fix-it ticket signed off for no front plate ;(

I told my dealer that I didn't want the front plate holder installed and he said, "No problem."

I didn't have to sign anything.

I've been driving around since last December and no problems without the front plate.

Go with the retractable bracket.... have it on my ZL575 which was lowered 1" and have not had any problems with clearance. Mount it a little further out so when the tag is up it doesn't scrape up the bumper.

I picked my car up from dealer stock (perfect match to what I wanted, transferred in from another dealer). When I got it, I found there was no front license plate mount. I checked over the the bill of sale, and found that I was not charged for one. I just figured that we had forgotten to check off the option. I found the front license plate mount in the trunk - turns out the PDI guys didn't want to drill holes in the front bumper either

My guy said that they would put it on (Texas, req'd here) but that he found most owners opted to do it themselves. Though he did admit that he rarely saw them put on. :p

I decided years ago after driving Corvettes, that it is not worth the worry to try to get by without a front plate. At least the C5 Corvettes have a place designed to mount the plate and it is not just stuck on the front bumper.
The Camaro bracket does not look bad, and it is better to have it on the bumper than down low where it will drag on something.

i told my dealer to leave mine off and they did. didn't have to sign paperwork either. so the bracket is in the trunk, but the screws/bolts to put it on are gone. the porter that washed the car and put it in the trunk with the car mats took them out...wtf? no big deal though, as i'll leave it off until i get pulled over for it. my dad has not had a front plate on his 'vette and he's had it since 2005. i'll go with a fold away one too if/when i have to put one on.

Nice to see some dealers still consider the customer. Great buy!
