Laguna Seca: Road Course Times for the SS against it's competition.
http://www.fastestlaps.com/track16.html
The SS managed to outperform hardcore road-course oriented cars such as the Evolution X, Evolution IX, 370z, etc. The GT500 managed some good times as well. Any thoughts? |

Viper ACR has shown to be one incredible machine. I really don't care that it beat the ZR1, I am just glad it has put a big dent into the GT-R ego, much like the ZR1 did.

It also shows the skill of the driver. That would have been one scary ride from the passengers seat. That corkscrew would make a person scream from the right side.

The Viper ACR is one brutal car. Only problem with it is no luxury. More a full out race car for the masses. Still the fastest thing around Laguna, my favorite track. I love that track and the corkscrew.

This car is amazing. No luxury needed. Hell no passenger seat either. |

The ACR and ZR1 are pretty much in a league of their own. And I'm surprised the Camaro did so well considering how much they complained about understeer.

This is very impressive, however a full 10 seconds back is questionable to me. Maybe there is some difference for drivers, but maybe that would only be a second or so...
I am sure the power of the Camaro is what put's it ahead of the ricers. For the price and performance, this is one heck of a buy, one heck of a car! With all the performance upgrades coming out, it is going to destroy the competition.

The ricers are so far back because of the Camaro's torque and power. The EVO for instance does outhandle the SS, but it has over 100lbs less torque. I would bet the EVO can enter corners faster but the SS has caught up shortly after the corners exit.

good times on the '10 SS. however im super impressed with the gt500. its the only car there with a live rear axel, and its almost .5secs slower than the cts-v. soo pretty much if we get a LSA in the camaro we get the legit Gt500 fighter/killer

Yep. This only continues to prove my point of having a Z/28 with a slight power bump and better suspension wouldn't outdo cars like the GT500.

Nice result.
Still the value standout is Cobalt SS. |
