Ordering without seeing???

I see that a lot of folks are already ordering the new SS, but I'm curious to know if anyone has really seen what the SS is going to look like? I saw were GM unveiled the RS, but I personally haven't seen any official pictures of the SS. Not even on Chevrolet's website. So my question is, does anyone have any offcial pictures of what the SS is going to look like? The RS looks great, so I can only imagine that the SS will look a little more aggressive, but I'm really wanting to see one before going to order one. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Marty

Marty, Welcome!

There are pictures of a silver SS from SEMA. It is really a matter of some badging, wheel options, HIDs and some interior details. Look at the SEMA live pictures and you will see an SS.

Thanks camaropete, is there a link that you could share with me? Not sure how to find the SEMA live pictures (I'm new here).

Thanks

Hi Marty,
Waiting is fine but be prepared to wait until next Christmas for your car or get clubbed over the head to get one asap. By the time the first ones hit the street in April, I imagine the initial allocations will be used up. The good news is that most of the cars you will see first will be SS/RS or SS cars.

He shouldn't have to wait that long, I think. I agree, if you want it now, Marty -- then I suggest you order it asap...but there'll be plenty Camaro's to go around.

Enjoy the pics!

With today's economy, I don't think the wait will be long at all. Seriously, besides our fellow members here, I personally don't know of anyone other than myself that's anxiously waiting and wanting to buy a new camaro. I work with about 50 gear heads and no one other than me is actually waiting on one. Don't get me wrong, I want the Camaro to be a success and I think it will be, but I just don't think it will take GM long to fill the demand and start having over stock.

Here's my next question: If we're fairly certain that the silver SEMA car represents what the SS is going to look like, I'm curious to know why GM hasn't officially released photos of it? It just seems like they are trying to be secretive about it for some reason. Has anyone heard why they haven't officially reveiled the SS? As long as it looks as good as the photos you folks posted, I'm game.

because they are still getting everything lined up, they will be making all inportant minor changes over the next months because right now they have engineers test driving them and people monitoring it all and they will be making small adjustments to everything over the next few months to avoid those first MY problems. they will release photos when they are ready.

True. I only know one that definitely wants one. A couple that would like one, but aren't committing to it.

The orders will be filled in weeks. There will be stock on the lots all summer. GM is not offering any financing deals right now and looks like do not plan too. So dealers will use local banks and credit unions, which tend to charge higher rates.

I have been waiting, and will be buying. But GM has not luck. They are 7 years to late with this car, in the worst economy since the 1920's.

Times are going to get rough and it is going to show.

People who paid MSRP now, will be upside down on their loans by July. I promise you this.

I know, I know, we all have been waiting so long for a new Camaro. But, think, be smart, WAIT!!!! Hey it is your money.

People will be upside down as soon as they drive off the lot. This is how buying a new car always is. Even if you buy the car under invoice....put 500 miles are you able to sell it at what you bought it for? Nope.

Guess everyone should buy used cars....

That will depend on the amount of the down payment.

I should finance approx. $25,000 (MSRP=$37,275). I doubt I'll be upside down that quickly, if at all.

Even with a $37,275 down payment you'll be "upside down".

July/August the cars will have a 8-10% mark down.
