I'm looking at the Camaro as a possible purchase to replace my truck. Having a bit of an early mid life crisis and it's not easy finding something fun to drive when you are 6'10".
My question is this... When I stopped by the dealership to see if I fit in it, I found that it was quite comfortable, however due to wearing a size 16 shoe, I noticed that when I tilted my foot back to switch from gas to brake, I was running into the plastic that runs down from the dash all the way down into the footwell. Anyone know what's behind that plastic all the way by the gas/brake pedal, and whether it would be safe to use a dremmel to cut it out about 3 inches deep and about 10-12 inches wide? Thanks! |

You could do that, but its going to look like crap! I am 6'7" and this vehicle has the most leg room I have seen for being a "fun car"! Also note that the non sunroof version has more headroom! I got the sunroof and have maybe less than an inch of headroom! I fear speed bumps and train tracks! LOL

I'm only 6'1 but I wear a size 14. I was afraid I wouldn't have much room with a manual but the Camaro has a lot of leg/foot room. Of course I drive barefoot a lot too lol.

Directly above the pedals is an air vent and the frame to mount the whole plastic part to. Nothing you can cut out there. To the right of the gas pedal on the center hump there is a bit of plastic with nothing behind it.
It really doesnt seem like there is anything that can be removed safely. What you probably would need to do is wear a slim fit shoe such as a driving shoe or a 'sketchers' style one. They have thin soles and slim design and may allow your foot to have enough room.

I dont think you'll have much of a problem. If NBA players can drive this car, then so should you. I wear a size 14 and dont have any issues.

I only wear a size 14 so I can't help you- but I know I was very happy to find a car I could fit in (6'9" myself).
