I haven't really looked at what's behind there, but it looks like that might be the case. Of course if it was true, that might also increase the chance for water ingestion during hard rain (or creek fording (not recommended)).

Has anyone done or done-tried this, or has it been looked at and called plain dumb?

I started thinking about it when I (wrongly) envisioned plumbing both of those holes with ductwork to be able to direct air to the front brakes for cooling. Doesn't look like that's (cleanly) possible with all the shrouding in the wheel wells and is probably too hillbilly (apologies to hillbillies) anyway.

The stock airbox receives air from above there, and I believe all the aftermarket cai's are well above that as well. There's not much behind there, but I don't see any real benefit from it - tue grilles are pretty big and provide plenty of air flow. Just buy a vararam ram air and problem solved! Coldest air in the most direct route to your engine.

Well behind those black bezels is the wheel well. Some of the air entering from the holes would make its way into the engine bay, but the difference would probably be minimal. The T3 ports on my bumper are just holes where your fog light bezels would be, so what you would be doing is essentially the same thing. And as for directing air flow to cool the front brakes, it is possible, but it would require cutting into the wheel well. Never seen it done before, but it would be cool to see!

They need to solve their problems or whatever they are doing with a model for the LSX engine first. I'm all 2012.

Old race cars had them displayed pretty conspicuously, I don't know if any still do. It kind of looked like flexible dryer duct. Now there's an idea...

I bought mine from someone on here - keep an eye open in the members for sale.. or try e-bay. They are the same fogs as the Tahoe, and quite a few other GM models.. (they're cheaper if you buy them for a "different vehicle"). ..If it says Camaro, it HAS to cost more, right?
