I switched to a JRE remote tune back in 10/2010. I had a local tuner that is VERY well known and the tranny would not shift and the car was lazy down low. please keep in mind I have about 250 1/4 runs on my wifes car with 40,000 miles. it don't miss a beat. also the car Jre mentioned above is beat on all the time I know because he is local to me. Yes i log every run and also have a wide band. 1 more thing JRE has remote tuned 5 FI cars (500-725rwhp) for me and none have issues.

I am glad your Happy with your New Tuner but don't shoot down what We do.

We offer a Service that Satisfies a Need in the industry, Plug and Play Power solutions.

Guys can purchase parts and a tune in one package install it Flash the computer in they're own garage.

Now They have the tools in the package to Check and finish the tune.

For most simple bolts on packages it is not needed as I have done so many over and over I have the tunes perfected.

If the car just doesn't seem right I ask for logs and all to often we find mechanical issues that cause the lack of performance through logging.

For anything out of the ordinary or as the build get more intense I ask for Logs with Wide band.

The Every car is different Theory has Flaws, if that was the case Mass Production would not exist.

Do you think that Car manufacturers Dyno Every single vehicle they build?

Inside of a year model the calibration is the same.

Cars are only different if we make them different.

This is why I am so Busy with tuning.

Ted.
No one said my car wasn't feeling right. That's the whole point. Without knowing exactly what the baseline was, I gained roughly 35whp/40tq, which is inline with what most report as gains. I just had the feeling that there was more that could be done. I took it to someone who is KNOWN to know how to tune VVT and my feelings were confirmed. Not once did I talk bad about the person who tuned my car, I just told the differences between email vs dyno. If you take offense to me showing everyone the difference, you'll have to live with it. Despite what you say, every car has the potential to be a little bit different. A LT/CAI tune for one may be ok while it may be a little off for another. Yes you can fix the big things with SCT datalogging but you can't find the little things that a dyno graph will show to get you the most out a tune. Resorting to having to buy a wideband or run on a local dyno kind of defeats the purpose of email tuning, unless you really don't trust the local shop. That's a whole different thread that I don't think you want in right now. Chance are it wouldn't last long here anyway. Do you REALLY want to throw out your idea of "perfected" tunes? The problem is, YOUR idea of perfect may be fine for some but not for others. I have a good friend that tunes for Hypertech and ran one of their tunes before I got my LT's/email tune. You know what, It made a noticeable difference in the way my car ran. It was conservative, just like my email tune. I find it funny that you imply that your tunes are perfect and that most times, logging shows that your customers have mechanical problems and your tune has NOTHING to do with it. If that's the case, it just shows how little you actually change things, thus leaving HP on the table. Yes, mass email tunes fill a niche, but like I've repeatedly said and this thread shows, a PROPER dyno tune from a experienced tuner will be better. How much better depends on the tuner. Apparently your business relies heavily on mass email tuning so I can understand why you're so adamantly defending your position. No one is saying that email tuning should be banned or that they aren't any good. We're just saying that most times, a person can do better with a proper email tune.

Just wondering, what are YOUR perfected changes in the VVT settings and tranny tunes?

I offer remote tuning as well. I email tune several vehicles, but honestly at the end of the day, I could improve on it by having it on the dyno, being able to feel/hear the car and measure differences.

Remote tuning is a good solution for those that aren't near a good tuner, but I always have said having a good tune done in person trumps an email tune.

Axis I have a cam waiting for you BTW.....just saying..
