That's a good spring but I'm not a fan of dual. They add weight to the valve and lack the control of a beehive. Problem is that at .650 there aren't many beehives that accommodates that. Lazer and i have changed out stock springs/retainers for psi 1511 and ti retainers and that loses 1lb in the valve train. But thise springs are only good to .625 lift. A double spring/steel retainer would add weight to the valvetrain even vs stock

Did you use atleast use ti retainers?

If you think your having valve control issues i would chuck those springs in a hurry. Maybe even look at a cam that's nice to the valve train.

My friend runs a comp conical spring on his dirt ls motor that would probably work for you. He runs them with stock ls3 valves and a hydraulic cam to about 8200 rpm.

Thanks for the advise, but I'm happy with my set up. It's safe and reliable... and when I want more I open the bottle....

Not coming in here to add fuel to fire but if you want more why rely on bottle when you have potential to increase your NA setup?

I bought a stage 4 cam because I wanted the sound of a big cam. I bought the LOD intake because I like the way it looks. I added the n2o for fun basically. Some may not agree with my choices but to each his own...

I started this thread to share my build. I wasn't looking for answers or approval. I didn't ask for recommendations or complain about the numbers. I am really amazed at some of the responses I received today...

Forums tend to have the bad habit of answering questions that weren't asked. Until someone else is footing the bill, the only opinion about your car that matters is yours.

Thanks for sharing the results, nice to see results on the new intake manifold.

Crazy hey.... I'm on here a lot, a lot of good info. I'm not chasing your build or gpi...or anyone else. I'm not bragging about the numbers I got. They are what they are. Im sure many think it's stupid to spend that much money on an intake when the stock one is sufficient, especially ported and with the rod mod. For me...it was about appearance... and I like it. It's a quality piece for sure.

In no way have you spent foolish money. Your car is YOUR car the results are good info and nice of you to share 100% I think most were hoping to see the intake be utilized into the 7500 RPM range is all. Guys have been drooling over this intake lol Congrats and Enjoy. Stock intake is good for stock operating range cams. As you can see yours liked the extended RPM and wanted more and the LOD will allow you that 800 rpm extension.

Thanks for sharing the results. Dont take responses to your thread as an attack or something like this. They want the best out of your combo. Some of the responses are from very knowledgeable guys and know a lot about LS. Plus they have suggestions, they are not hating, they want you to go faster!! It might sounds harsh sometimes, but they are trying to help you go fast.

My cutoff is set at 7200 with a rod mod&ported LS3 IM with a TSP 231 236. I would gladly spin your combo to 7400 on the track, if I where you. It is a high rpm IM, even if you might have bought it for the look. I think its just normal that plp want to see how well it carries up top.

Would have been a great opportunity to see how high you can spin this manifold. Not everyday you see a LOD intake setup..

The entertainment value here is priceless! On a completely unrelated forum I belong to, we started a, “Punching Bag ‘O the Week” section just so people could tell you what a worthless imbecile you were for doing whatever you did to your (insert object here) Took the edge off the barbs...for awhile.

The post that talked about wrapping a 1LE around a tree...I think that’s when you have achieved success in your build. When it’s so bad ass you can’t keep it on the street and it wants to climb trees! Bravo!

My revlimiter is set to 7100. They recommended setting the window switch to 6600 and shift at 6900. I realize it's early in some eyes, but it's safe on the bottle. I didn't want to have to get a tuner and load a different tune every time I want to spray. Running it up to 7800 rpm on motor and 7800 on nitrous are 2 very different scenarios.
