it all depends on what happens with the models they are releasing first as to what happens next. I have faith the Z28 will bow once again. and I never thought once if the Z was at launch the SS wouldn't be coming. no one would be talking like this. . .how can you have a camaro with out an SS? and there'd be more people sitting here saying it's coming then there are over the Z28. and honestly to the people that want a Z28 to be a GT500 fighter. There are probably more of you that just want a GT500 fighter and couldn't care less what it's called. Name it whatever just as long as you get your GT500 fighter. right? but Z28 seems to be a good choice for that specific car. |

If they can pull off a miracle and make a Z28 loose like 500 lbs., and leave it at the same power level as an LS3, if not more , than I think that would be great too. I fully know what Z28 used to mean, but that's changed. My Z28 has every option except the 12-disc changer, but that's not to take anything away from what many other people, yourself included, are hoping for in this model ) but if something else makes more sense in making a better car, LET'S DO IT No kidding. I think this thread has turned around a great deal and hope it continues

fuel economy, more performance potential, reduced insurance, and (unlikely but possible) price.

You stated all the reason why I would get the base vette over a Z28. i was looking for a 3LT 2006 vette when i mentioned this. Now I will get a 2010 v6 ( daily driver) and a 2011 SS (HUD + show car) which seems to be a weird trend of mine. ( i seem to buy my fbodies in v6/v8 sets a year apart by chance) The Z28 seems to be a vette killer, but GM wouldnt do it.. makes no buisness sense |

) while Mustangs and Camaros are 'sports cars' which increase insurance rates. Plus it would have 70-120 less hp, which would create further savings.

I don't think that could happen because the weight and the 'Vette is just in a different league. It would be totally cool though

base vette w/LS3 ~430hp Z28 Camaro w/LS9 (variant) ~ 650hp 200hp can make up for a lot of weight. im talkin top dog Z28 power compared to base vette power, however something like a Z28 with an LS9 would easily be 50k.

No way a z28 would have 650 hp. try more like 550.
