I bought the 1LT because I'm short (5'6) and I needed the power drivers seat, plus I wanted the RS package. I really love this forum, it's great to see that even the guys that bought the 2SS don't rag on the guys with the LS/LT models, very cool guys!

+1

An ABM of any trim would be more rare than an LS in my opinion. A car cannot be rare if they are still making them to order.

I have a black Camaro LS, with about 3500km's on it. I love it, and for me there was no question in my mind that I was going to go base. For en extra 1200, I could have gotten the fog lamps (which I kinda like) and the power seat, but I really don't need either. I don't think I'd ever pay extra for power anything, and I prefer cloth over leather. The LS also isn't a complete stripper, it still has cruise control and a decent stereo, so there's nothing that I'm missing in it. I also prefer the black steel wheels over aluminum, so that helped the decision. Plus no one knows that it is a base with zero options, no one's asked and I'll never tell. People assume I paid at least 40k for it (in Canada), but I actually paid less than 30k. To me it is the greatest performance bargain out there. I also think since they make so few LS' it is easier to get a discount on one than on the SS's, so that made the deal even better.

I think they need the spoiler. Other than that they look great.

diamondmike, very interesting. Did you buy the wheels on Ebay?

I got the 1LT because I wanted the sunroof, nicer wheels & RJT color. None of these are available on the base LS. I also didn't care for the cheap plastic covers in place of fog lights. It's okay on a minivan, but not this car.

People comment positively about them all the time, but I have to admit I have been looking online more often lately for some different wheels.
In a word - DITTO!

I took the plastic trim rings off my steelies. Looks SO much better - especially with the CGM body color.

I was looking at wheels online this weekend but then I look at the steelies and they are so plainly beautiful and classic. There are some really nice looking alloy wheels out there, but as my keen, young son said "they all make the Camaro look like a foreign car."

Well... it WAS engineered in Australia and built in Canada...
