Here is an idea.

1. Put throttle cables back in cars.
2. Ban morons from driving.

However he said the system is already built, and IS designed to work that way. Heel/toe downshifting part of proper driving of a manual transmission, I am sure the NHTSA when mandating it will go with what can be agreed on to functon as they would like and not intrude upon normal operation of the motor vehicle. There is no reason to worry.

Heaven only knows. I know, if i still owned an automatic I would be disappointed I could no longer do burnouts like I used to.

But then that's just me being me.

For regular street driving and occassional exhibitions, I can't justify the price of a line lock or transbrake.

I like to watch racing and leave it to those who have the right experience. Which disqualifies my abilities. LOL

A line lock is a couple hundred bucks and easy to install. Plus its better than doing brake torque burnouts.

Even for a couple of hundred bucks to do a burnout demo once a year it wasn't worth it, to me.

Now that I have a Manual Transmission, the point is rather moot.

I suppose they could implement some sort of sensor system...like ABS, it won't come on till the wheels start locking up...I'd still like multiple settings to reduce the chance of computer interference when racing. Like, Sport mode = much more tolerance for throttle + brake pedal pressure, and Normal = much less tolerance.

Basically the same thing they've got going right now with Stabilitrac, just applied to the brakes/throttle.
