Why do you think they'd take $2,000 below MSRP?

You thought the $28,500 was high on the 1LT, despite it being $500 below MSRP.

Well I went and built a 1LT with what she listed and it was $27,xxx. I didn't know if Boston Acoustics & Connectivity were included, I left it off..

I just know what I can buy for around here.

IOM 2SS/RS w/Sunroof MSRP $37,220 - Sale Price $34,999.

These cars are not flying off the lots like they were last summer, if you offer $1-2k under MSRP you are likely to get the car.

This is just based on what I've seen around here, and what I've read on here of deals other members are getting buying LOT cars right now.

You sound pretty informed about the whole buying process, but just in case you werent aware, never tell the dealer that you are trading in a car until you have finalized the price. That is usually the first question a salesperson askes. Just tell them straight up no. Once you are happy with the agreed on price then casually ask them what they would give you for your car if you decided to trade it in. Also being a young attractive women they may try to add fees in the end that you did not agree on or were aware of. So dont let your excitement to drive off the lot with your new car get in the way of checking the paperwork very carefully. If something feels wrong it probably is.
Good Luck, Hope to see ya cruising the streets of Indiana in a shiny new Camaro soon!

2LT... the leather is AWESOME! I love it. I dont have a sunroof as I dont fit with one. I wanted it but you learn to live without, plus my head hit. I am not sure you could get a 2LT/RS/auto/sunroof for this price anywhere.... can you afford a few thousand more? If you can, and are not sold on a color, keep looking, there are tons out there!
yeah i have leather now and i just don't know how i could live without it. but MAYBE i could i think i just want the car so bad right now though that i'm convincing myself to settle and i think i will be greatly disappointed once i did and the novelty wore off but the payments kept coming LOL!

I am sure a dealer would never consider tacking fees onto the deal of an ugly male buyer....

The trade trick doest really matter, they will just give you less for it... Be honest up front, you'd expect that of them wounldt you?

Not true. On a 2SS/RS, the MSRP is $1500 above Invoice. On a 1LT/RS/Auto, MSRP is still $1200 over Invoice. Check Edmunds.com - they have accurate info.

i would pay his asking price but see if he can justify the price hike by offering other incentives. at least the price is not outrageous. could be worse. im surprised you still have your grand prix. been following the boards for awhile now.

But I'm not in the know, as far as that stuff goes.
Unless I'm completely off base:
Generally, yes. Hold back is included in invoice pricing, so if the car is invoiced at $20,000 and hold back is 600, the the dealer cost of the car is more like $19,400... Keep in mind this is a short, shoddy explination... there are many factors that come with each franchise, some weigh TVM and days spent on the lot etc...

that's where i checked and the invoice is about $1400 less than MSRP. and i checked the window sticker and it matches pretty much what i put in on edmunds as far as MSRP goes.

i definitely don't think the price is BAD. i just wondered if i could go lower. i feel like i should be able to get a 2LT for about that price. a place in indy had my EXACT car that i want for $29185 but traded it to another dealer the DAY before i called :( how sad was i????

as for the grand prix... i stopped trying to sell it because i decided to move to florida and thought that i would rather have a paid off car then a car payment once i moved.

yeah that's what i'm thinking. i LOVE having the leather in my car. and LOVE having seat warmers... if i don't move to florida until next year then i will have it this winter and definitely want the seat warmers. i had cloth in my very first car and never did like it.
