If your father works/worked for GM, you can go to www.gmfamilyfirst.com and setup an account. You can log in and get the prices on your GM vehicles. You should be able to get the exact MSRP, Invoice as well and GMS prices. Get a GMS number and take it to the dealer and tell them you would buy the vehicle at GMS price and no more. I have been doing this for 20 years for all of my GM vehicles. The latest was 2010 ABM 2SS/RS A6 last October. I saved about $2500 over MSRP back then. Most dealers would honor GMS by now.

yeah the discount on this car is only $972. i remember when it used to be 18-20% of the MSRP. those were the good old days LOL!

i will... i just built the car on the employee website and it was about $400 less than what they told me without it.

anyways, check that out, if the sticker is showing 28k on it, then something must have been added to the car especially if a car like that build is going for regular 27k...
**cant remember is ABM was a premium paint which cost more

since this color is not being built anymore, could be that's why the cost is added.

However, start with the sticker, print out one from the chevy website since i believe the pain option is still on there and take it to the dealer to compare with the one they have.

goodluck
thanks! i just built it on the employee website and the total with the discount is $28123. is it okay to ask to see their invoice though? because i've been told that there is no reason why someone can't get a car at dealer invoice price since they still make the 3% holdback off the car! was i misinformed???

also, i found the window sticker on their website so i printed that off and i'm comparing it to what i found on edmunds. there is a major difference... this car has 20" alum polished wheels and that's $470. i didn't realize it had that so i didn't select that otion on edmunds.

No reason to build one, that's the MSRP from Chevy, building one won't give you any different result.

The sunroof would be another $900 on top of that if you ordered one (Of course you can't get ABM paint)

At any rate, at $28,500 you're not being ripped off IMO
i definitely don't feel like i'm being ripped off. i just have been told by a lot of people recently that i shouldn't pay over the dealer invoice price because they are STILL making money on it. that's why i'm asking all of you... you guys would know better than i would that's for sure!!

I can tell from your post that you really want the sunroof. Get what you want dont settle for anything less. Your in the US you have soo many more options for you then us Canadians. Also if you can swing it check out the 2LT it really is nice from the stereo,USB port leather interior and the guage's totally worth it. If you have to drive 1000 miles to get one do it without thinking twice about it when your ready. Good luck

haley... I remember you from a while back... dealing with trying to sell the GP. I am glad you are finally getting (hopefully) your Camaro and ABM is very nice! I hope it all works out and you are crusing soon!

Don't settle for less than the discount price, and I agree, sometimes you can do better. Just make sure when you leave you are comfortable with YOUR deal. There is always going to be someone who got a better deal, and someone who got shafted... As long as you are happy, thats what matters!

Keep us posted on the purchase! and of course, we expect pics of the new ABM LT/RS!

I would disagree with those who say you shouldn't pay over invoice. The difference between invoice and MSRP on a Camaro is less than $1,000 (When I built my car they just let me watch stuff go into the system, so I saw invoice)

Personally, a car dealership is a business, they deserve to make money off the car. I don't like the dealerships that gouge people, but in the case of a car like the Camaro, I have no problem paying over invoice and at or less than MSRP.

What you decide to do is up to you ultimately

FTW!!!!!!!

It always made me laugh when someone would say it's not worth it. WHATEVER!!!!!!! If it's worth it to ME, then it's worth it.

Just be happy with your purchase.

it's 3%, and it doesn't waver from sale to sale or anything like that. it's standard across the board... for just about every american vehicle infact!

Man - you need to make up your mind!

I'm not well versed on the LT trims, but even $28,500 seems high to me.

I know you could get that 2LT I found for you in MA for $30k...and that had leather and a sunroof...

The holdback is standard, correct. They get it to insure the car on the lot for 30 days. They get the same amount 3%, if it sits for 1 minute (like my Camaro did) or 1 year (like or Tahoe did).

2LT... the leather is AWESOME! I love it. I dont have a sunroof as I dont fit with one. I wanted it but you learn to live without, plus my head hit. I am not sure you could get a 2LT/RS/auto/sunroof for this price anywhere.... can you afford a few thousand more? If you can, and are not sold on a color, keep looking, there are tons out there!

Covered this in her other thread - there are not many of these still on lots in ABM...

Only one found in MA was $31k, I think if she offered high $29's they would except.
