Microfiber towels
Are there different types of MF towels? I don't mean different brands or quality. Are there different ones to use when drying, using a quick detail or when waxing?

There generally are 2 different towels, one for polishing and one for drying. Waffle weave towels are highly absorbent, and therefore should be used for drying. When polishing, wiping on quick detailer, or anything of that nature, look for the really plush "polishing" towels. They are really thick and soft.

Go to Autogeek.net and click on Microfiber Products. Look at the Cobra towels. They break down how they are made, where they come from, what each is used for, and on and on and on.
Try this with your micro fiber. Run it over the playing surface of a CD. Don't be gentle as you will be putting pressure on the towel when you use it on your car. If it scratches the CD, it will scratch your car.

I use a leaf blower on mine to dry it off, works great. Then all I have to do Is wipe the door jambs and under the trunk lid.

I use the cheap microfibers around the house, and in the engine bay because they aren't worth more than just shop rags.

Those walmart or Sam's ones only get used in the door jams, under the trunk or in the engine bay, or to wipe off the tires to make sure theyre dry before the VRT goes on.

I use a leaf blower on my ride and it still requires a drying towel and detail spray to get it completely dry. If you have a good coat of wax on it the water should be beading making it difficult to completely blow the car dry. I actually prefer the flooding method to get most of the water off of a well protected car. And a leaf blower to get the water out of the nooks and crannies.
