Glad Tim got you squared away.Since you asked i would not spend any money on gears,i had the six speed record with 3.31s and we still have the record now with 3.31s,let that mother pull like a diesel.I would not leave that shop without axles, all that tq will live you stranded on stock axles. Enjoy it and be safe.

Hey I just noticed what whipple is claiming and wanted to share. Didnt know if anyone has checked this out or not.
http://www.whipplesuperchargers.com/...sp?ProdID=1243 Either way great build! Whipple has made some great products in the years. When I was growing up my dad had a twin whipple on his 28' Comander boat. It was pulling over 800HP, the boat was almost to fast. Im still debating on weather I should go with Twin Turbos, or go ahead and throw down on a whipple. I know this may be a stupid question, but for someone who dosent know "ME" If I had an LSX 427 would this whipple fit? |

I know you already mentioned the increase in an earlier post but I wasn't sure if you had already touched on the question that I raised above. Great install! The blower looks real nice. |

What I am definitely interested in is what the LS9 cam will add to the build. I have been considering that for a while given it maintains the same idle quality as stock and doesn't require any valvetrain upgrades from what I have read. I know the incremental parts install/tune/dyno results process is a burden given the time restraints shops and customers are under but the information derived from such exercise is invaluable to the community. I am also interested to see how Whipple responds to the Meth Injection risks, my understanding is when injected it is vaporized almost instantaneously so as it passes by the rotors as a gas it does nothing to impact them over time. Either way I think Whipple may, as any other manufacturer would, cover themselves with the "this was processed on machinery that may even hear the word peanuts once a decade" type disclaimer b ut I would give them the benefit of my doubt and let them state their position. I would have to guess that like the other manufacturers you just wouldn't qualify for whatever warranty you would have on an otherwise totally stock car.

Realize that Tim, as a service to this forum is paying for the extra dyno time. I believe he may take it to a dynojet in the area just to prove the difference. For those of you unfamiliar with dynos, there can be a lot of variation. There is a compensation factor used for environmentals that if changed will skew results. As many members have stated it is not an absolute scale, it is more of a reference factor in determining increase from a starting point. |

If anyone else has specific questions that they don't see answered here post them and I will answer when I have a chance. I want to make sure anyone who is considering this learns as much as possible from my build. I know I researched a long time before making my decision.

THE DYNO
Lets try to clear this dyno thing up once and for all ...
The dyno in question is a SuperFlow 840 twin eddy current. It is an older unit (probably 15 years old now +/-) It is serial number 109. We have done multiple comparisons with Ted Jannetty's TWIN dyno. His is serial number 111 I believe, so these two are not only identical models but were made at similar times as well. Teddy & I have baselined countless 2010 Camaros and shared data. There seems to be an approximate 10% difference between the two units. Tim has also taken several cars tuned here to another local dyno for comparison, and reults show about 11.5% difference to that one. This data has been sent to SuperFlow and they continue to review and try to find out why there is a difference but to date, no answers. In the mean time, the unit remains constent and repetable. The dyno does not read 30-35 HP different on everything. It is a percentage. This has been verified by dynoing cars here and going to other dynos for comparison. Its unfortunate but ... it is what it is. Bone stock AT 2010 Camaros have read 302-306 RWHP on this unit. Bone stock stick cars read about 340-345 RWHP. Again, we have had dozens of these cars across the wheel so I think we can rest assured on what the baselines are. I hope this clears the issue up for everyone. |

The best you can do is take the difference (or gain) right now. Looks good to me.
