Be curious to know if the ADM intake will work with the Whipple. Other than that, I think it looks great and thanks for the writeup

dyno
i dont know what you mean
we have time and time again dynoed the same car on 2 to 3 diff dyno's and we came up around 30 to 35 hp less than the others so we think our dyno is off a little bit i will be running it on one of the other dyno's in the am and will post their numbers and you will see what i am talking about |

I believe you, there is a superflow in our area and it is way off compared to the dynojets that are local. It is a much better tuning tool because of the load, but sucks when trying to compare numbers across the country. The dynojet seems to be the norm for that.

![]() Dynojet can read high at times. But seem to be pretty acurate across the board with each other. |

I don`t know if they are necessarily high, but as you stated they are pretty accurate across the country as far as comparing one dynojet rwhp numbers to anothers when sae corrected. I`d say at most they vary +or- 5% of each other.

Wow, I'm way past due on this thread. First, I want to thank Tim at T and T for a great build. He has really done a great job of working with me. We have been going back and forth constantly with the details of the build in the past week. For other camaro5 members, Tim will be very straight with you. If he is unfamiliar with something he will tell you. He will not up sell you and he will discourage you from wasting money on worthless mods. He has a lot of experience working with the 5th Gen Camaro. There are several heavily modified camaros in his shop at any given time. He carries a full line of parts from just about every vendor out there. I can say the guy works some crazy hours. I dropped the car off on Tuesday and by Wednesday he had it ready for the dyno and tuning.
Now here are my impressions on the kit. First the fit and finish is awesome. As you can see from the pictures, the head unit looks great. The black head unit has a smooth finish with a low gloss that I think works really well for a near OEM finish. The packaging itself is another big plus, especially for DIY installers. Every hose and clamp comes individually wrapped and labeled, which makes keeping things straight very easy. The kit really does include everything you need, to include a small hand tool for some minor cuts that are needed. The instructions were basically a manual with pictures of every step. Our instructions had a couple of steps missing due to a printing error in house. We have spoken with Mike at Whipple and this was a minor issue that has been corrected. That is the great thing from Whipple, customer support. We have been able to reach them very quickly and so far all their number claims have held true. During tuning we initially weren't getting what we expected, after one phone call we had the necessary change and we were up and running. As for the first drive, all I can say is I was really impressed. I have driven in multiple Camaros with both maggies and centrifugal superchargers. The whipple had low end like a maggie and just kept pulling into the upper RPM band. The car drove great. At lower rpm the car felt stock. You could not hear the SC. Once I got into it, the acceleration was instantaneous. I wanted a sleeper, I am even keeping the stock exhaust. I have to say, I love the sound of the Whipple. It does not have a high pitched whine. To me it is much lower, just like a jet engine spooling up before light off. At about 2500-3000 rpm you get the low hum and as the rpm builds so does the volume. Now, please remember we intend to do a lot more to the build. The only reason we dynoed the car now, was to get numbers for a stock LS3 with the whipple only. This was a quick tune and dyno session. The build is nowhere near optimal yet. This whipple makes a ton of boost. It is capable of supporting 30 psi. Once we swap to a blower cam, install headers, high flow cats, and an intake I think the numbers will go way up. Frankly, we wanted to be safe because the whipple had so much power. Thank Tim for trying to get these numbers out. He knows a lot of members have been waiting very patiently for this. |

Any recommendations on something else I should do while Tim has the car? Thanks. |

That is the first thing I noticed from the dyno sheet that was posted, it is like the best of both worlds and is what has me most interested in this build and especially this unit. Thanks for the write-up, I/we look forward to the rest of the build.

I will say this, that unless you let the motor breath, I don't think you will get the most out of the whipple. It's a big blower and makes a lot of boost.

On the Cooling Mist system, just be aware that is not a good idea to spray water or methanol into the blower. It will begin to eat up the coating on the rotors. Check with Whipple to see if t hey other alternatives that is past of the rotors. Secondly, since you already have the blower and you're getting enough low end TQ, the 3.73s will just make you spin more in the low gear. Leave that alone and stay with a good gas millage you get with stock gears. I'd spend the money on a good clutch and axles. Just my two cents! Good luck! |
