I always prefer a dark rug...as it shows so much less wear and soiling. Of course I would not mind a light leather floor in some models for shows etc. Oh Scott if you could pull that one off...lol

Agreed. I have the gray interior. However, the first think i did was to hit Walmart and buy a roll of black "replacement" carpet and did the cut and fit over the gray. I think it looks good. I still have the gray on the side, but protect the mat and carpet underneath.

Although, I do need to get some new black mats. LOL

I went with the gray interior, it makes the car a lot lighter on the inside. I thought the all black made the car too dark on the inside. Just shampoo the carpets and mats if they get too dirty. I have a truck that has 126,000 miles on it with gray carpet and it looks fine if you take care of it. When the mats got worn, I bought new ones.

+1
My truck I traded in had a light gray interior, and I had no problems keeping it clean.

Had grey ones once, after awhile they look like $hit. Black only.

Royal pain in my ass to keep the Malibu's carpet clean. My dad and I threw in the towel and bought aftermarket dark carpeting and laid it over the factory carpeting.

I really think it depends on the interior as a whole. For instance, the Camaro's interior is largely black, regardless of the seat color, so the carpet should be black. On the other hand, my old Infiniti G35's interior was both black and grey, so having grey carpet to match the seats made sense.

I'm a fan of dark carpet, dark interior so it'll stay looking good for 20+ years.

interestingly enough, i had a talk with Cheryl Pilcher about how awesome she is for fighting for a light colored interior. the gray is the only escape for people such as myself who absolutely hate black interior. i know i ain't the only one who'll cross a car off the list if it's black inside.

case in point: the FRC vette i'm looking at buying, i've already planned the interior swap to use base-model gray carpet & seats because GM wouldn't offer any other color inside. it's a real pain in the butt, but, for me, it's a necessary evil

MY 08 Corvette has the same light grey/black seats as the Camaros (or at least really close). Door panels in the Vette are light grey as is the lower dash...but the carpet is black! That is how GM should do it on all of their cars.

BINGO!

I would have got the gray interior if the carpet was not that stupid light color. I ended up with the black interior and it's great, but not as interesting to me as the 2-tone look of the gray one.

I have the light tan interior and carpets in the '06 Impala which I bought new. The carpets looked awful in no time, while the rest of the car appears near new. I think all carpets should be dark gray or black regardless of the rest of the interior.
