Can someone explain skip shift to me? I googled but only found 300 sites with products to defeat it. It obviously has something to do with emissions and avoiding a gas guzzler tax, but how does it work? I mean if it's a manual car, just shift how you want or am I over simplifying this?

in light-throttle driving, it locks out 2nd & 3rd so you have to shift from 1st to 4th to help increase gas mileage (in simple terms)

Thanks. I wouldn't like that, but if it keeps a $1700 gas guzzler tax off the price of the car so be it. I'll get a $10 cable to disable it.

The CnC package "includes (UPF) Bluetooth for phone, (KTB) wireless PDIM, (USR) USB port, (NZL) steering wheel mounted audio controls, (N34) leather wrapped steering wheel, (VY7) leather-wrapped shift knob and cargo convenience net."

If I do end up with the 1SS, one of my first "projects" will be to install a USB port. I'm fairly certain that the mounting spot is still there and I doubt that they'd turn it off in the deck/computer. Since it's the same radio as the other cars, there's no reason it shouldn't work with a simple wire-up.
My HHR 1LT didn't come with the Steering wheel radio controls, but I bought the parts from GM Parts Direct and installed them myself, and it works fine, the wiring harnass was already there all I needed to do was plug it up after swapping two wires on the existing cruise control harnass. so you may be correct about just geting the parts for the USB and hooking them up..

Anyone left in the Naples area that has not had a chance to see the car? We're going to stop over bcannon354's tomorrow around 3PM in Naples. So, if you sent me a PM here is your last chance before we leave Friday morning. PM bcannon354 for details/directions. He was great to offer a location Thank him.

I'm hoping the harness for the center console gauges is underneath the storage area on a 1SS because thats what I plan on getting in the future and I really want those gauges!

The Camaro should be tested on I-75. It runs straight from Naples to my house in Southwest Ranches, near Fort Lauderdale, Miami Beach and South Beach.

Beautiful drive, gator country. Goes right through the Everglades.

I'll take loads of pictures and post them on Camaro5.

Whatdaya say?

HeatherR, what's it like to feel like a rock star? Also, if you need some extra money, I am thinking that you could start charging a few dollars for each stop and for each member that wants to take pictures and touch your car. BTW, don't forget that offer of the New Year's party in Northern VA!

Yes, please stop at Pete's on your way back up. I'm sure he'll give you anything you want. So will I.

I thought about it though, and if we took a VR SS to South Beach, in the art deco district, there could be a mass rumble.

We may need police protection; I can arrange that.

Maybe some laps around Homestead/Miami Speedway are in order?

Key West would make a wonderful trip.

You can not get the steering wheel controls if you get the 1SS. This is why I am looking at getting the 2SS. I really wan tall the other stuff with the exception of leather.

Sorry I was out of town and did not get to see it either. Boob Taylor even called me to tell me it was going to be there but did not make it back in time.
