Can someone explain to me why the decided to make the charger a 4 door? I liked them when I first saw them a few years ago but why?

I mean, sure its only got a 4 banger under the hood. And sure, its front wheel drive. And sure, it looks boring ... even by 1980's standards. But hey, its only got 2 doors so its a real Charger, not like the garbage they've got on the lots these days

um, all current chargers from 2005 have 4 doors. there has not been a 2 door charger since the front drive hatchback from the 80s.

i personally prefer the charger name over any alphanumeric title they could have given it. however i am a younger member who doesn't identify with the original car.

I know they have been a 4 door for a while. My friend at work bought one back in 07. I just wondered why did they decide to go the 4 door direction? I never did understand that.

It's not just about the doors. Anyone can see that abomination is also whoring out the Charger name.
