I took my front bumper off and JB welded magnets to the backside of it. Now my plate sticks to the front bumper with some felt between the plate and bumper. Works perfect and I have no issues with paint damage.

My original plan was to zip tie the plate mount to the lower grill like I'd seen done on other cars. Unfortunately the V8 has a larger grill than my V6 so that didn't work (the top of the mount kinda flopped downward). So I just softened up the backside of the plate to avoid scratching and zip tied it directly into the lower grill without the mount (careful not to overtighten the zip ties and risk cracking the plastic). The plate is off-center (since the car comes to a point) and always ends up being a bit crooked but having a plate on the front of the car looks stupid anyway, so a crooked, off-center plate doesn't make much of a difference. As for filling in the holes in the future if I move to a 1 plate state? Yeah, I'd just rather not have the holes in the first place than try to fill in and paint match....... Not an option.

I have one similar to this.
http://******.com/products_chev.html Basically, attaches to the grill and then you just screw on the license plate.

Thats insane expensive. I spent like 11 bucks on my magnets and its way easier to install and remove the plate at shows and whatnot. |

Just do what I do. Drive without a front plate. It's been a year and a half and no one's said anything yet.
