Mods you are doing over the winter.

Just a thread for all of us C5 members that aren't driving our cars due to the winter weather (salt & snow). What have you done to your car or plan to do before you bring it back to life in the spring/summer? For me, I am having Livernois Motorsports do a stage 2C cam swap. I thought about doing it myself but chickened out, thought it would be better for someone who has done this thing before! (mine is the L99) They should be picking it up in a week and I will be waiting for it's transformation to get completed and its return home. How about it, any one else doing anything to their car?

well i have been doing alot it seems lol, i took the steering wheel and gauge bezel off and painted them iom to match the car, then i am installing a heritage grill and roto fab cai, just need to get them painted and they will be ready to go, then i think i might have the rims powdercoated flat black to match the hockey stripe on the car, i recently have painted the taillight bezels flat black also, and the bowties iom and black and done the ss flat black with iom in the center, so i want to do soo much more but just dont have the money lol...

I'm heading to Vector on Saturday to see what other goodies we can add within my budget. I'm looking for short throw, and some suspension upgrades to get this power to the ground. Still considering tint...just can't decide. I had a tinted GTZ when I was young and spent more on tickets than I did getting the tint job. See you guys around the shows this summer!

Borla cat-backs behind the Kooks, Roto-Fab painted fuse box cover, assorted billet engine bay caps/covers, red tinted the seat stitching, and lastly, I took off my windshield wipers.

Couldn't decide on which wheels to buy, so I'll wait another season.

I have been reading each time you do a mod and your RWHP numbers are great!!! Can you hook all that power to the ground?

Dave,

What are you having done at Livernois? My Maggie install and calibrations were done by Alternative Auto Performance. During the summer I am easy to find; I go to a lot of the cruises, meets and cars shows around my side of town; N/E suburbs. Would like to meet up with you, where are you located?

There are several 5th gens that I gather with during the cruise season. An informal Camaro "club", if I could call us that. We are always looking for more "members" because there's way too many Mustangs around.

With my OEM tires, the car does get "squirrelly", especially in first gear. It gets real crazy when the weather is cool. In the early spring and late fall when the temps are below 60*, I can actually say it has too much power...more than I get put on the ground.

Hey! I just checked your profile. I see you know Lynn and Kelly (Stormtrooper). Have we met?

Alfie

No, I have not been to any meets other than the C5 fest. I was going to a meet in Midland last year to meet Lynn but the weather was rainy so I didn't take the chance. My daughter lives in Sterling Heights and I know that you guys down there meet at a spot near their home on Wednesdays but it is over a 2 hour run one way and I have not made it. I have had Livernois do my first mod which was Roto-fab CAI, Kooks LT headers and High Flo Cats, Corsa exhaust with their custom Dyno tune. Now they are going to do a Stage 2C cam up-grade with all the goods and re-tune it. I have had no problem hooking the tires at the track but they do spin a bit on the roads. Not sure if the bottom end torque will change with the new cam but I have talked to a couple people that have this cam and have said that the mid and upper power of this cam is unreal. I can't wait to find out.

Your current set up and new mods make a very impressive 5th gen. Hopefully, I'll get to see it this summer.

When I mentioned our Camaro "club", it's just a group of 5-6 Camaros mostly from this area that informally gather at the local cruises and events. I say mostly, because Lynn and Kelly, though from Midland, are part of this "club". To get us through the winter, each of us has been taking turns hosting dinner parties for the group. Great food and good conversation...and what do we talk about? What else...our cars.
