I didn't mean to start a huge thread about consensus. I thought all of you could read my mind, much like my wife does.

I guess what threw me was the, "he didn't think it would matter for sold orders" bit. Does that really mean, "the number of sold pre-orders doesn't affect the consensus number"? That's how I'm reading it.

Sorry. Long week, I'm tired, and I should be in bed instead of planted in front of my computer.

Another thing! I just think "consenus" is used for cars to be sold on dealerships lots. The 2010 Camaro "sold orders" program is a whole other beast, and they are treated as "SOLD ORDERS".

Consensus is an agreement between the dealer and manufacturer so they can forecast sales and production. Allocation is what's given to the dealer.

Your dealer is an idiot. It is abundantly clear that, despite the many orders your dealer has placed in the past by mere fortune, your dealer has no idea how to place an order. With this sort of memory, it is a miracle that your dealer can even remember how to drive.
