Most people can't drive a GT500 into the 11's, even if it's capable of those numbers. I expect high 11's from the ZL with average drivers.

I've seen these super snake \ 700 hp "mustinks" drag racing and on technical road course tracks. HP is sexy but those cars are technically inferior to the current generation of Camaros and lack the total package. A combination of sad tires and poor driver skills could be a contributing factor, but I honestly expected much better results from a car that begins with the name "super" especially for the premium expense.

Interestingly, I was watching some stuff on youtube about the PTM on the ZR1. The guys on the video were saying that this suspension control can actually improve performance times for pro drivers and allow novices to perform much better than they normally would. Seems like technology is allowing us to all do better.

Won't be 11 secs with shitty launch times. A 750 Super Snake isn't even a 11 sec car and neither is the GT350 with 624 so what makes you think a 620 hp GT500 will be?

If the ZL1 can hook those wide rubbers in the back, 11's I'm sure are possible. I'm more interested in the trap speeds. You think the ZL1 will hit 120 mph???

Also, assuming traction is perfect and the ZL1 gets the same 60 foot as the GT500 that ran 11.1 at 122mph completely stock with sticky tires, you think the ZL1 would be able to match or even beat those times?

the 2012 mustang boss is 12.1 second car ... and rumor is that the 2013 gt 500 (assuming ford renews its expiring contract with shelby after 2012) will have 620 hp ... not the supersnake ... so this would be their complete alpha dog and it would only make sense to make it atleast .1 seconds faster than the boss (my opinion is that they dont renew contract, and mustang boss becomes the zl1 rival)

and btw.... the 1969 ZL-1 did a quartmile in 11.6 seconds ?!?!? :confuse d0068::c onfused0068:

thats riduclous for over 40 years ago stock! ... evne though they only made 69 of them ... hopefully the new ZL 1 beats that :P ... although its 99.9999% unlikely

Before Ford throws any more power on that GT500 they need to seriously do something with those rear wheels spinning. Every review I see of it that is its biggest downfall. Don't get me wrong, awesome car and once the wheels stop spinning it really does move but what's the point of power you can't use.

I'm not understanding your logic here. 750 is more than 620 and it's still not an 11 sec car so why is 620 gonna be?? All I'm saying is don't get caught up in hp numbers. If that was the case the Super Snake should be runnin low 11s on numbers alone. I've said it once and I'll say it agin, 620 don't mean diddley if you can't put it down. Otherwise, explain to me how a 530hp, 3900lb car is putting down sub 3 sec 0-60 runs and mid 11s and a 750hp 3800lb car is still stuck above 4 sec 60 runs and 12 secs in the 1/4?

to make your c**k feel bigger lol

but I think improvements from the mustang boss will slowly trickle to the GT allowing for more of that power to be used to put more power to the ground..
